Works for thick kitties too! 100% recommend!

I am thoroughly impressed!!! I originally got this so my boyfriend won’t have to do too much maintenance with my cats’ boxes when I’m gone for three weeks, and I waited til prime day to look again after weeks of eyeing these and reading reviews, and I was super nervous to commit, but after almost a week I have NO REGRETS!!I have four cats, 9lbs (female), 12lbs, 16lbs, and 17lbs (males). Two are 4 years old, the other two are 6 and 7 years old.I did NOT expect my chubby boys to be able to fit in this thing because it LOOKS too small. But it’s honestly the absolute perfect size!!!Don’t judge it until your cats use it, because I was VERY close to sending it back before my big boys used it and saw it suits their size wonderfully. They go potty, it does a leveling out of the litter to cover the waste – so rolls back halfway, forward a bit, then back in place – , then in a few minutes, it rolls all the way and dumps out the clump in the bin attached underneath. You can put it in manual mode too so you can press the leveling and cleaning buttons yourself if you want to. And there is a shield it comes with that you place over the grate so you can empty all the litter at once as well.My litter still doesn’t stink whatsoever since it cleans the waste up right away. There are min and max lines so you put the correct amount of litter in and add more when needed.I use the cheapest clumping litter from Walmart – Special Kitty, and it works great with it.I’ve changed the bag once so far in just under a week (about to change it again today) and you can’t smell any of the waste whatsoever except getting a waft when it empties the newest waste into the bin, which is expected. My cats sit and watch it every time it spins in absolute wonder. Hahaha. One of them took a couple days to use it but once I removed the other boxes and he saw the other cats all use it, he used it also!He a was afraid at first because the barrel DOES shift/lean/wobble forward a little when they get in from their weight. But not much, just startled him a bit. So skittish cats can take a bit longer to warm up.But it is also super quiet!!!My house doesn’t smell like I have cats anymore. It’s amazing. :DMine do tend to jump out and fling litter everywhere (as opposed to stepping out) but I think that’s a personal issue. Haha!Minor dislikes:1. How the bag is held in the bottom; there are two rubbery pieces on one end but not on the opposite end so you have to spread it and make it stay in place with your hands and put the loop through a little gap by the front clip. So there’s a possibility of it slipping off the unsecured corners, but it empties into the more secured end so it hasn’t been an issue. I would just prefer the assurance that it will stay in place fully once I slide the drawer back in.They do suggest using only those bags (of course $$ lol) but I haven’t tried with any others because it comes will a full roll.2: The grate that the clean litter goes into when it rolls back can get little clumps stuck on the other side of it so maybe making them closer together would help. But very very few have slipped through so it hasn’t caused any smell or dirtiness concerns, and I feel like this happens with scoops and other sifting boxes I’ve used waaaaay more. Kind of an unavoidable thing with litter. These feel very minor to me, though, because it’s still doing everything I hoped it would. No real issues with it yet, though, and two of my cats SERIOUSLY dig and haven’t punctured the soft litter bed…as of now.Honestly if there’s one thing I do not regret stretching my budget for (I paid around $160 I think, on prime day and I’m wildly cheap, admittedly), it’s DEFINITELY this and it’s definitely the most affordable of the ones I’ve looked at with decent reviews.Get it! Promise you won’t regret it unless you happen to get a dud. 😛

Relatively easy to set up, works well, cat uses it without problems, cost effective

I got this to replace a self-cleaning box that required crystal litter, as that option stopped being very cost-effective. The crystal litter initially seemed good, but lately the litter needed to be changed almost weekly–definitely not cost effective.I read a lot of reviews and this was the box I chose. I purchased it a few weeks ago and waited to write my review till I had seen what it would do over time. I purchased a 42 pound box of clumping clay litter to go with it.Initial set up was not difficult really, but had a few challenges. I had trouble putting the first leg in place–but once I figured it out, the rest went on easily. You MUST read the directions–and keep reading them as you go. It isn’t self-explanatory, but that’s not bad, just a statement.Putting the bag into the box at the bottom seemed a bit of a challenge for me–I think it was just me. It is simple–but the pictures made it less clear. Open the bag completely, lay it in the bottom lengthwise according to the shape of the bottom of the tray. Pull the yellow draw string through the slot at the front and hook it around the notch below. The back draw string just stays where it is. Simply position the upper edge of the bag around the top “shelf” or edge of the tray, replace the lid, and clip the handles closed to hold it in place, then slide it under the litter box. Takes about a minute the second time you do it!I read reviews about how awful it smells when you open the box to clean it. Look, you have a cat. They smell. Supposedly you can unclip the handle and pull the yellow draw string to close the bag before you remove it, but I haven’t tried that. I just open it, remove the lit, pull the drawstring closed and replace the bag and lid. It takes all of a few seconds. I did have one bag split open as I was doing it and I had to carefully place it in a different trash bag. Things happen. I had also gone more than a week without changing it and it was very full. With one cat I have to empty it every week. The week I went more than a week without emptying it, the round part turned upside and the cat couldn’t get in and came to find my husband. He had to unplug and reset it. We think it happened because the bottom was full. Just a warning. It never happened again once I started doing it weekly. The outlet we are using is half-way up a wall and over about a foot from the box and the cord is plenty long enough to reach. We did put a little set of steps below the box for the cat. It seems very high to jump into. And she does track a lot of litter out, but she is also the messiest cat I have ever met in my life. Even her food is all over the kitchen! But she got into it and used it from the time we set it up without any problems.I definitely recommend it. I calculated the use of this litter to crystal litter for the other box and I will save in litter the cost of this box (I did get it on sale) in less than a year. I have added litter twice in a month and still have at least two more “adds” left in the 42 pound box. I can get a 42 pound box of litter at Costco for less than $17, and I calculated the savings based on the Amazon price which was about $25.

Great litter box for the money

Love this litter box! Was very easy to set up. My cats took to it immediately! Easy to clean. Only two things would make it better- an app to monitor it and a deodorizer for the bag that collects the poo- it can get a bit strong. That being said, for the money, this is a great value. No major issues and it has made my life so much simpler!

SUPER QUIET! Easy, Odor-Controlling Time-Saver! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It’s super easy to set up. Simply remove it from the box, attach the legs, place the litter catching mat where the cats enter/exit, and assemble the poop-catching area. Basically, just place one of the included special-sized plastic baggies on the inside of the internal cassette-style box, then insert it into the unit.Run a quick alignment (middle button), add cat litter (about 20#), run the alignment again, and your cat’s new throne is ready for use.- PROS -It’s a cool little space pod that comes with everything you need except litter. It only has three buttons, so other than possibly a slight initial confusion about the placement of the poop baggie (it runs along the inside seam), it couldn’t be easier to set up and use.It will pause the clean cycle if it senses your cat! The light turns red, the unit stops, and then it goes back to its cleaning cycle once it senses that your cat is no longer in the area. It’s lifted off the ground so you can easily clean underneath, but it’s also small enough to tuck under a counter or table if you want to hide it or maximize space.Contains smells! It’s so quiet!- CONS -It’s so quiet you might wonder if it’s working, and spend a few minutes on the first day double-checking it. We saw the litter looking immaculately flat after being used, so we knew it had to be working, but we never saw or heard it; therefore, was it really? Like a tree falling in the woods, it *was* working, we just didn’t see or hear it. lolLorge cats or those who don’t like appropriately sized litterboxes might have an issue. They can still have their heads out (unless they are weird little yoga dudes like mine who do the stinkbug in there). It’s more about how much space they have to turn around. That resolves itself once they get into a groove and develop their potty routine, but it’s something you may want to keep in mind.

    Best cat box ever!

I love this automatic cat box! It is quiet, runs beautifully, contains odors, and is easy to change out bags and maintain. I have been struggling with a Litter Rob*t for four years now and finally decided to try something new. The price was also less than half and it takes up significantly less space. Awesome product! I highly recommend it!

    Best Litter Box Around

Best automated litter box ever! I have 4 cats and 2 of these litter boxes. The cats adapted to them quickly, which made me very happy. The litter box does exactly what it says it does. It empties the messy litter after the cat leaves the box. The dirty litter is collected underneath in a fairly large container. You just pull out the container, close the container bag, put in a new one and you are done. Witg my 4 cats I have to change the bag about every 2-3 days (depends on which one they use the most). About once a week I do a deep clean which takes about 5 minutes. You have the litter box empty all the litter into the container, wipe the inside, take off the top cylinder (you literally press 2 buttons) clean underneath, pop it back on and that’s it.The other thing so great about this box, if it’s being emptied and I just touch it- it automatically stops. Great safety feature for the kitties.

    Better than the expensive alternative

This is an amazing litter box. We have one of the super expensive litter robot but needed a second liter box because our cat was having behavioral issues. Spoiled with already having an automatic one, I wanted another automatic one, but couldn’t drop another $600+, so I got this thinking it would be an okay back up. I actually prefer one over our super expensive litter robot. While it doesn’t have an app that tells you all the fancy details, it is super super easy to clean – both checking/emptying the litter and cleaning out the inside- fast and easy to set up, and fits in so many places. Our picky problem cat loves it and uses it probably more often than the expensive one. It was very easy to assemble and move. I would recommend this one to everyone with a cat and will probably end up purchasing another one when the expensive one inevitably crashes.

    Affordable and it works!!

I really wish I would have bought this automatic litter box to begin with. It is wonderful! I have two cats and it handles them perfectly. I had purchased the Elspet machine first and it was horrible! Too many complicated moving parts, difficult to clean, the rake was constantly getting stuck, and the disposable the waste bin was small. This one has a huge waste bin, no raking system, fewer moving parts so it is less likely to have a problem. And it definitely stays much cleaner. The Elspet machine constantly had odor coming from it. Not to mention this one was half the price!

Mine stinks with 1 poo. Help

Update: I’m updating my review to reflect the positive experience with their customer service. Below you can see how the device didn’t work for me, but customer service ended up being the best I have ever dealt with. I was shocked at how kind they were and they didn’t try to drag the process out. They stood behind what they sold me and did everything they can to make it right with me. When I say they made it right with me, I mean they didn’t try to do what would financially benefit the company instead of the customer. Due to the customer service experience being so positive I would buy from the company again. Maybe I just got a dud and it was a fluke that my litterbox didn’t work correctly. Either way the customer service impressed me and gave me some hope that not all companies are going down hill when it comes to their customers. I think it speaks volumes to how much they believe in their company and their product to the point that they know they’re good and didnt hesitant to say to say lets me fix this one. If the other thousand are perfect, then one with errors isn’t a stressor. Good job to the team that helped resolve my problem. I was dreading it because of other companies poor handling of customers, but the people who sold me this litter box gave me a sigh of relief and I haven’t had that in a long time. Thank you!I can smell each time my cat poops. Zero odor control. The mat inside holds the odor so it stinks even after you clean it. The bottom part doesnt keep odor from seeping out either. It rolls the poop around and smears it all over the inside and somehow on the outside too when it rotates. It got stuck upside down so my cat couldnt get in it so after work I came home to clean cat poop and reset it. I come home and it’s stuck upside down again leaving me to clean up more mess and doesn’t want to reset or work correctly at all and just keeps stopping.

Best money I’ve ever spent, worth every penny

I spent days trying to pick an automatic litter box, and finally decided on this one.. and I’m so happy I did. This is some of the best money I have ever spent. I was nervous because my younger cat is very picky about her litter box and if she doesn’t like it she will poop on the floor beside it. And she used it after a couple days of seeing my other cat use it and realized it always stays clean. I just left the old litter box and didn’t clean it like normal and eventually she didn’t want anything to do with the old one. And my goodness, it’s so nice not having to scoop all the time and still not having to smell anything. Admittedly I let it get too full one time and I still couldn’t smell anything. You don’t even have to see it. You just pull the strap that you leave out when putting a new bag in, and it closes the bag before you even pull out the tray. It’s so nice. And even more quiet than my other crystal and rake automatic litter box. Which I love because my younger cat is also a scardy cat lol if it’s in the middle of a spin and my cat even so much as touches it with her paw it stops. The only thing that could be better is my larger cat (15 lbs) is kind of big for it but he still uses it. So it could be a little bigger inside but that’s only a small con compared to all the good so far. Not sure about how long it will last because I’ve only had it like a month but it seems promising. And I will be getting a 2nd one and will always go with this brand.
