Still extremely helpful after 1.5 years for my blind brother and super nearsighted wife

The media could not be loaded.

My brother is legally blind in one eye. His vision is also very poor on the only eye that works. When he wakes up, he immediately grabs his phone and puts the phone just inches from his face since he can’t see the time well. I zoom in all the fonts and settings on his phone but they’re still tricky to see. My wife also has poor vision, she’s nearsighted (can’t see far) with a -8 prescription.I saw an ad on social media for a necklace projection and the thought randomly popped up for a clock projection. I immediately came on Amazon and looked for a clock projection and clicked on this affordable one. Read all the reviews and was convinced to buy it. I was super excited and wanted to surprise my wife so I bought one to try it out with her first before my brother, and it was a success!I set it up the day it arrived. It looks nice and sleek and was easy to set. The cord is just long enough to reach the middle of our room where the dresser is. I had to play around the projection to find the perfect spot and perfect size without the digits being too blurry. Once I found the perfect spot, I went to my wife in the other room and took her glasses off and had her cover her eyes. Led her to our bedroom and told her to lay down on the bed (because it looks better from that position! Not any funny business ;)). I turned the lights off and told her to open her eyes. She immediately screamed because she could see the time clear as day. She was smiling from ear to ear. We had a mini celebration that night with pizza. I did pretty amazing in her books. The next day, I immediately bought another one for my brother. I set it up the following weekend. He was also very happy and could read the time whenever he wakes up and before he goes to bed. It’s still a little blurry to him since his vision is very poor but it’s better than the inches-away-phone from his face. The other feature like the alarm is also helpful, you can save 2 different alarms, but our circadian clock is in working order so we don’t rely on it. But, my brother accidentally turned his alarm on one night and it was so loud the next morning at the default 6 am. Woke the entire house up. My mom was not happy when she called me the next day since my brother is a heavy sleeper so he didn’t turn it off for almost 15 minutes. (Sorry mom!)Other things to note:- The projected LED light is bright and readable. It gets clearer the smaller it is but then not as effective for someone with nearsightedness. You twist the cap of the lens to change the size and blurriness.- There is a projection of light beam to the ceiling so if you’re tall, the beam will hit your eyes. How we avoid that is to look away from the clock until we’re laid in bed, it’s a habit now so it doesn’t bother us.- The square projector can only move up and down. But the entire clock can move left and right if you need to reposition it.- The light of the digits on the clock can be dimmed down, but the color is blue only and can’t be changed. If you want a different light color, you’ll have to buy a different clock with that predefined color.- It works plugged into the outlet, but takes in 2 AAA batteries so if the electricity goes out, it doesn’t reset the clock. That feature has been extremely helpful numerous times during thunderstorms. We don’t have to manually reset the clock every time.Overall, this is an AMAZING high-quality clock and it has helped my wife and my older brother out so much. It’s been 1 and a half years and both clocks are still functioning like new. Just need a wipe and dust every so often. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a nearsighted partner or family member, it’ll help them out and more.

    Yep! I’d buy it again!

This clock is a very good value, not perfect but better than it could be for the price point!Lots of good things: battery backup with AAA batteries (not some esoteric size), bright to very bright display (unlike some more traditional American consumer brands), lightweight, big enough for older eyes, choices of display colors, … holy crap, I should have bought 2!!!Some minor criticisms: the focus ring on the projection module is very small, rickety, and imprecise (especially for big clunky thumbs and fingers), also its range of projection is limited to only one axis (arcs forward and back) so I’m having to move my bedside lamp with BIG shade—it gets in the way. Two axes (plural of axis believe it or not) of movement would be helpful, but I don’t know how they could do itYou’ll have a hard time finding anything better for anywhere near the money! Thanks, guys!

Good for car travel but maybe to big for the suitcase on a flight.

I am actually traveling with it now. It held the time when it was unplugged so when we reached out destination at the hotel it was good to go. The adjustable brightness is great as I like a dark room and I can put this on the lower light and it is just right. I do wish there was an option for it to come on without being plugged in as it does have a battery and would be great for camping/glamping when electricity is not an option. Also it is a little bigger than I wanted however it has all the bells and whistles I needed. So overall I am very satisfied.

    It works… ish

Good: it works. It’s a clock. Seems to keep good time. Projector feature is great.Bad. Brightness has 5 levels of… brightness. 1 is too dim to see in all but pitch black. 2 is too bright for a bedside clock. 3 and above will give you a sunburn. For the projector, 1 is all but invisible, even in a pitch black room. The contrast ratio is very low, so 2 turns the room bright blue. 3 and above are ridiculous for a bedroom.I hate ambient light sensors but this thing seriously needs one. Or two.

    Son loves it!

One week in and my son loves it! It projects fairly well, it’s not a laser so works as expected. It’s not super bright but yet very legible on the ceiling, even with all the nightlights on in the room. Also, the projection can be flipped if you’re reading those other “it’s upside down” reviews. It stands well, the buttons don’t hurt your fingers to use, you can set separate alarms, etc. Only thing, we ordered the blue at first to try something different but it wasn’t unpleasant to look at so replaced with red and it’s better.

    Projection for a Win

The projection is just perfect for what I needed. I occasionally wake up during the night and to see the clock, I would have to push the pillows down and roll over to see the time. Now I just look up. I like that I can choose both the display brightness and the projection brightness separately. I have not used the alarm feature.

Time projected on the ceiling is a life changer!

We love this clock. The display on the ceiling is so easy to read. We don’t always sleep well at night and it can be a challenge to read the clock on the other persons nightstand. With it projected in the ceiling, it’s always visible to either of us. I do feel there is more “blue light” in the bedroom with the projected time on, but you can dim it to your liking. It’s slim and small and does not take up a lot of room in the nightstand. I have not used the alarm.

    Excellent Product!

I don’t normally write reviews, but I think this one is needed. First the product arrived on time with no damage. The first thing I noticed was there was no instruction manual included. This is the reason I I gave 4 stars instead of 5. When I plugged the unit in, the projected image was very faint and upside down. Since there was no instruction manual, I had no idea how to correct this, so I initiated a return. In the meantime I fiddled around with the function buttons and with the help of a friend was able to discover a button that would flip the image. After correcting this issue, and refining the focus, the clock now works properly. Now I love it! I will no longer be returning it and highly recommend this clock, but just understand there is no instruction manual included.

    Great for the price!

Good performer for the price. The projected digits are a little dim, though visible in a darkened room. One of the segments of the projected display is fuzzy and weak. It is not exactly dead or I would ask for a replacement but it is weak and might fail. This is the upper right vertical segment for the TENS digit, and this effects the 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 displays, so five of the six possible digits displayed are effected.

Great clock for easy ready (talking to you middle age people who need readers)

This clock is very thing, takes up minimal space, large, very easy to read numbers & has great projection. I’ve had other projection alarm clocks before & didn’t realize how ineffective & just not great those were until I got this. It’s large numbers, dimmable – so easy to read! I definitely recommend.
