TERRO T300 Liquid Ant Bait

TERRO Liquid Ant Baits

Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work, and everywhere in between. Unlike sprays, TERRO Liquid Ant Bait kills the ants you see and the ants you don’t. Ants are attracted to the sweet liquid bait and take it home to share, eliminating the entire colony. To kill common household ants, place TERRO Liquid Ant Baits wherever you’ve seen ant activity. The compact size of the bait stations makes them perfect for placement along baseboards, in corners, on counters, under and behind appliances, and on windowsills.

TERRO Liquid Ant Bait controls the entire colonyant killer, liquid ant bait, ant gel

Controls the Entire Colony

Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing! As ants forage for food, they are attracted to the sweet liquid inside the bait stations. Ants keep coming back for more and more, taking it to the nest to share. The active ingredient, Borax, takes effect slowly enough for foraging ants to make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to spread, eliminating the entire colony.

how to use terro liquid ant bait

Easy to Use

TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Just open the tab and place the bait stations on a level surface anywhere you see signs of ants. The more bait placements you use, the better! Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait stations. Replace the stations when the bait is depleted. Before placing the bait stations, remove other food sources, such as crumbs, sugar, and grease spots, to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the ants may avoid the bait stations.

TERRO Liquid Ant Bait starts eliminating antsin hours and keeps working for weeks

Fast Acting & Long Lasting

When ants invade, TERRO Liquid Ant Bait is the smart choice to protect your home. Ants are quickly attracted to the sweet liquid inside the bait station. Within a few days, you should see a significant decrease in the number of ants visiting the bait. The bait continues working for weeks, as long as ants are still visiting the stations. Complete control may take up to 2-4 weeks.

My ant problem was gone by using this product within a few hours.

I very rarely write reviews which is kind of stupid because I usually read reviews prior to getting certain products. Therefore I guess I will start now, hoping I can help someone decide wether or not this product is for them. Before you read this long review I want to let you know this is the BEST product I have ever used. Before I tell you about how AMAZING this product was I will tell you what kind of Ant 🐜 problem I had. Maybe someone can relate.I have a parrot and he is in a room that is near a window. With all the different types of food he eats and with the warmer weather that we started having in my area (NJ) I started seeing ants outside. That’s when I started seeing some ants coming in from the bottom left corner of the frame of our window. I have never had an ant issue with the 17 years I live hear. Even having my parrot and all the amounts of food he eats. For some reason last year during the spring time is when I saw these crazy little annoying bugs come in my house. These ants seemed to be a different type of ant. One I have never seen before. They were small but the minute you go near them they would run away or scatter away super fast. I have an exterminator on my block and he told us they were sugar ants. What the hell is a sugar ant? Lol. Well I was told that these ants hide out in your shower and in the kitchen because of the sugary foods around. Why are they found in a bathroom is beyond me. But I looked it up after what he said and everything he told us was what I read on line about “sugar ants”. I mentioned that last year I had this problem and they were found behind the faucet in our shower. That’s another story. Anyway, before having an exterminator come into my house, I figured I would try to resolve the problem myself. So before buying this “AMAZING PRODUCT”, I purchased all the “Raid” products that come in the square plastic containers. The ones that come in white or grey containers. I put the Raid traps by the window and where else I thought they might come in. I actually tried the mixture of vinegar, sugar and water concoction that was told on line to use for these ants. But nothing worked. I doubt an ant even went to these traps because near my window they would go around those traps. I was getting frustrated because I skeeve bugs. And I was afraid of an exterminator coming in with my parrot living here. I wasn’t taken that chance of him dying with the chemicals. Anyway after coming to a dead end with the Raid traps I began reading and reading on so many products just to find a worthy product. That’s when I came across this product. It was very different than the normal products that are used to kill ants. So I figured why not, let me give it a try. I received my order really fast and was anxious to use them. After reading all the directions these baits were very easy to use. It comes in a thick clear rectangular container. To open it, it Reccomended to hold it up right and twist off the plastic top until it snaps off. It was a little tough for me to snap off the top like it says on the package. Therefore I used a pair of scissors to open the trap. Word of advise, if you need a pair of scissors to open your product, just make sure to keep the trap upright so the liquid doesn’t pour out. After opening the trap, I then placed this trap about 3-4 inches away from the bottom corner of the window. Right where I saw the ants coming in. They scurried away from me at first, but the minute I put this trap down it was shocking!! No joke. I was shocked to see all these ants go running toward the opening of this trap. The trap actually attracted more ants to come out of hiding to eat this food (crazy). I actually spilt a little bit on my windowsill and some ran to that and got stuck. But what was amazing to me was after I put the trap down and watching these ants go to it, it was shocking to see them run right back out of the corner of the windowsill. It was crazy. I just watched for a few minutes and to see them either get trapped inside the trap or grab some of the food in the trap and run back outside or wherever they came from. And by the end of the day they were gone. It’s about 2 weeks now since I only used one trap and I have yet to see another NASTY ANT!! Wahooo!!!! They are gone. This product is BY FAR THE BEST ANT PRODUCT I HAVE EVER USED IN MY LIFE!! This is noooo joke. Therefore you can count on me to continue to purchase and use this product for any ant problem that might arise again. I will never buy a different type of ant trap again. No matter how popular people feel the “Raid” products might be. The sprays are only wonderful for the outdoors but for the inside the “Raid” products are definitely not as effective as this product is. I actually gave my neighbor 2 traps and after a day or two they were gone by him as well. These traps are crazy how wonderful they work. I swear by this product and I know if you purchase these traps you will too. I will never buy another kind of ant traps again. These are the BEST kind of ant traps on the market by far!!! And mind you, I AM NOT making any kind of commission from this company for this product review. I am just sooo happy my ant issue is gone for now. Sooo, if you want to get rid of these annoying, nasty bugs “FAST,” then purchase these traps. And I promise you, you will be so happy you did.

Impressive! Ants return to the hive eventually eliminating it.

Wow!!! My cabin had huge issues and I needed something. I had used them before as a preventative measure and never saw ants leading me to think they didn’t work. They work insanely well! They’re worth every penny! They attract ants and you continue to put them out until there are no more ants. The ants love it and take it back to the hive eventually eliminating the hive. Clean and super easy to use if you take just one moment to read the instructions. Toxic to ants and conveniently packaged to the product doesn’t touch anything. The packages are conveniently small yet large enough for ants, hundreds of ants per container. Package contains enough for a major infestation. I will be leaving one or two around the back counter areas as a preventative measure. If you see nothing, they’re working. I have no idea how long they last but judging from my previous use prior to discontinuing them, it is a long time. I’m ordering more to have on hand. No ants typically means no spiders here on the mountain!

    Brilliant.

Excellent on sweet ants. It killed the nest within hours.Within hours of placing the bait where I seen the sweet ants, the sweet ants thought they had hit the lottery…the scout ant found it right away and alerted the others within hours there were hundreds of ant workers running back and forth into the tiny little hole as I watched them carry the poison to the queen. I woke up the next morning to find all was quiet. I cleaned the pheromone trails with clorox wipes and sealed the hole.I liked how the bait delayed the poisoning so the ants could get it to the queen before they died.I don’t know who the researchers were that figured out how to make this product work but they are brilliant. The cost is right on point, the product works exactly the way they said it would work.I highly recommend this product for sweet ants. When killing the colony make sure the bait works on the type of ant colony that you are having a problem with and you won’t be disappointed.

    Fast & effective

These worked really well. I usually make my own ant bait, but decided to try having some of these on hand just for convenience. These took about a day to work. The ants found them immediately and then the number of ants increased for a while before almost completing stopping about 24 hours later. It was super easy to use with the only downside being that this liquid will spill if you don’t keep it flat after you open it and the little tab to open it is a pain to tear off. I ended up cutting the top off instead of tearing it because it’s such a pain to open by hand.I’d definitely use these again though. Very effective ant control, easy to use, and cost effective.

Works on Florida Carpenter Ants (Red head, black body)

I live in Texas. I had a Florida Carpenter Ant (red head, black body) infestation for about a month, and this was one of the first baits I ordered. This stuff works very nicely. My only complaint is that the “tearable tabs” are terrible. You will probably need to use scissors to get them open. Ants WILL take this bait if they have no other methods of obtaining moisture. I am not certain if this bait was 100% killing the ants, but it was at least making them extremely sluggish (Carpenter ants are TOUGH). I had to start using the other 2 DIY baits listed below before ant activity completely ceased. Most effective baits I used to get rid of my infestation:TERRO T300B Liquid Ant Killer, 12 Bait Stations (make sure you have scissors to open these, the tabs suck)DIY – Mix Powdered Sugar with Baking Soda, put it in a baggie or a lidDIY – Mix Borax (1.5 tablespoons), Warm Water (1.5 cups), and either sugar (0.5 cup) or some peanut butter. Mix well, and then soak a cotton ball into the mixture.^for this one, I used peanut butter, since I had already set up the baking soda/sugar trap. For all of these traps, you are going to want to place them somewhere near the entrance of where the ants are coming from, out of reach from pets and children. After a few hours, you should start seeing more of them show up. This is because they are hastily working to bring the “food” that they found an abundance of back to their nest. Don’t mess with the traps or squish the ants once they start doing this, they are delivering poison to the nest. You can continue killing the ones that are not collecting the bait (e.g. ones that are just wandering around your house–they are either lost or scouting, no reason to keep them alive). Just make sure you throw the dead ants away, so that they don’t attract more ants over with their pheromones. If there are locations the ants are falling from, I’d recommend mixing water with dish soap in a (preferably) rectangular bowl with skinny edges, and then placing that under the drop point. This mixture will paralyze the ants and drown them as soon as they touch it. You NEED to use soap–carpenter ants are very good swimmers if the water is not tainted (Dish soap is toxic if ingested, so do not let pets or children near this mixture either).Ants change their mind on what they want to eat every so often, so I’d recommend using all 3 of the baits I listed if you want to get rid of them as fast as possible. If they are not taking any of the 3 baits, there are 2 possibilities: 1) It might be a bad time of the day for them–ants are generally most active at night, and early in the morning; or 2) They are in their mating cycle and have no interest in eating anything. The only advice I can give you for this is, just leave the traps where you had them and wait for them to finish the cycle. If you see winged ants, SQUISH THEM. They are breeders, and they do not collect food. One last piece of advice: Carpenter ants make satellite nests. Their main nest is most likely not in your house–there is a good chance that it is in rotting wood (trees/logs), or in the dirt somewhere near your home’s perimeter. Because of this, I’d also recommend looking for an insecticide spray that you can apply to the perimeter. I used “Spectracide Terminate Termite & Carpenter Ant Killer”, and while it does work, I would suggest looking for a different one. Its spray pump is VERY annoying to use, and it is electronic, so there is no getting around its tediousness. Just make sure you read up on the insecticide’s proper usage before applying it (most of the companies will have a website for this).I hope you found my advice helpful. It took me over a month to get rid of my infestation, since I initially had no clue what I was doing, and was just blindly ordering baits. I felt hopeless, and eventually I called 3 different exterminators… they all tried to get me to do a 1-year “maintenance” contract with no alternatives (over $700!). I spent about $95 trying to get rid of these things by myself. Over half of that money went towards useless bait that they did not care for. If you follow my advice, you will probably be spending under $50.Good luck!

Works Like Magic — Ants Gone in Days!

We had a steady trail of tiny ants coming into the kitchen no matter how much we cleaned. I set out a few TERRO bait stations in the main areas they were walking, and within minutes they swarmed to it like it was a buffet.Yes, it’s a little unsettling to see more ants at first, but that’s exactly how it works — they take the bait back to the colony. Within 48 hours, the activity was cut in half, and by day four, I didn’t see a single ant. It’s been weeks now, and our counters are blissfully ant-free.The stations are super easy to use, no mess, and safe to place out of reach from kids and pets. If you follow the instructions and let them do their job, these things are a game-changer. I won’t waste my money on sprays again — this is my go-to ant solution from now on.Highly recommend — just be patient and let the magic happen!

These never fail – truly a great product

I moved into a new home about a year and a half ago, and prior to that, my house had never had ants. At the new home however, there were numerous infestations in a number of places shortly after we moved in. We didn’t have a lot of extra money to just call an exterminator (moving isn’t cheap), so we decided to try a few different brands of ant traps, although with them in numerous places in the house, I was skeptical. The first two we tried didn’t do much. Temporarily killed a few but didn’t at all stop the problem. They’d be right back in the same spot. Then, I tried these and it’s truly amazing how well they worked. Just put one down where there’s a stream of ants, and typically in a couple days, the stream just stops. At first you’ll see a large number of them crawling into the trap, but most won’t stay there. The trap targets the whole colony and amazingly works every time. After putting a trap by every place the ants were streaming, the infestations stopped, and although we would have a new stream pop up every once in a great while over the course of the time we’ve been there, a trap always quickly stops it. The other day, an exterminator came to the house trying to sell us on their system to stop ants. It involved a spray under the house for $200, then another monthly spray after that, each costing $60. These come in packs of 12, and I finally used the last of them a couple days ago, so on average, I can eliminate ants effectively with these for 75 cents/month, or pay there exterminator $60/month. Hmm, I think these are a slightly better value.

    Effective when used correctly…

This stuff WORKS! You HAVE to place these where you’ve already been seeing scout ants at. You can’t just place them anywhere and expect the issue to be resolved immediately.I had been seeing one or two random tiny black scout ants per night, just inside my front door. They were freaking me out, it made my skin crawl, so I ordered these Terro bait stations to attempt to resolve the issue before it escalated.I placed one inside by the door where I had been seeing them come in under the threshold. I cut where you’re suppose to cut for the opening on the bait station but every time I set the bait station down, the bait seeped out onto the floor. I had to prop the station up using a folded up post-it note and a piece of tape to keep the open end slightly elevated. (Removed 1 star because of this design fail).12 hours later, I checked the station, there were HUNDREDS OF ANTS all around my floor! Some dead, some alive. I freaked out and threw the bait station out on the porch. I almost threw up in disgust!Be prepared for the whole colony to come in your house if you place these in your home! I should’ve placed the station on the porch to begin with since that’s where they were coming from anyway, so the ants wouldn’t all come inside, but I never expected it to attract that many ants that quickly! Hopefully the bait station is just as effective on the porch. It’s under a cabinet. Also, good luck trying to clean up hundreds of sticky half dead ants! Foaming spray dawn dish soap killed the live ants on contact, then I wiped them up with paper towels and sprayed the floors with vinegar to clean up any traces of poison that may have been on/in the ants or any traces of pheromones the ants may have left behind. With all of that said, these bait stations ARE effective (if used correctly) and I DO recommend them. Just be prepared for the aftermath!

Forget any other type of ant killer. This stops them at the source

Ive used these multiple times at multiple properties and im still astounded by its effectiveness each time.Where ever you see ant traffic or ant activity, lay these out, whether out in the open or tucked away as they are quite compact and unobtrusive. They have no odor and the container easily contains the goop inside. The ants will come and go and don’t be thrown off…. you WILL see increased activity near the traps. This is normal and helpful, it means the ants are taking their “food” back to the colony and everyone eats and within a day or less you’ll see activity taper off heavily and then cease altogether. One trap is all you need per area of activity and keep the others handy. If the trap doesn’t get every ant in the colony after a month or two you may see renewed activity, just lay out a new trap and Ive never had a third resurgence in all my years using these for myself and others. Rarely seen a second but it happens from time to time.Ive tried multiple other ant and insect killers and as far as ants go…. This is the only item I’ve used that has never failed

Find out what ants you have before you buy any bait

Definitely attracts them, would not recommend for pharoah ants though. Figure out what kind of ants you have before you buy a bait.In case anyone needs help with pharoah ants, what did work for me was:Caulking every hole I could findBeing extremely diligent about no food left out. This meant washing dishes as soon as I was done eating, and if I couldn’t wash them right away, I’d put them in my fridge.Wiping down counters and sinks – completely dryWashing my counters with dawn once a day and spraying vinegar a few times a day to erase pheromone trailsSquishing every scout I saw (then clean because they leave behind a scent)But all that, and I’d still see 1-3 scouts per day (they were only coming through cracks between my wall & kitchen counters) and that was after caulking, so idk what holes I missed. So what’s keeping away the scouts? (I havent seen any in 2 or 3 days so far, and Im checking many times a day) My Google home. I had the bright idea to put my Google home on my counter and leave the radio playing because I noticed whenever they were on the counter and I bumped it or put a dish down, the vibration would scare them. So the vibration of the radio has been keeping the scouts away!Oh also! They love love dog/pet food, so I put my dog’s food and bowls on a side table and used painters tape around the legs of the table and spread Vaseline on the tape 💁‍♀️ That works, too.
