One of the Best No-Frills Dash Cams on the Market
This is one of the best no frills dash cams I’ve seen in a long while. Use right out of the box, no extensive set up, or mandatory apps to download (although an app is available, it’s one less thing to worry about using it strictly as a dash cam). High quality construction and cameras feels very rugged. 5 star packaging and crystal clear instructions. Installation was a breeze, including rear cam installation (hatchback SUV in this case). Camera records when vehicle is powered on and does so on a continuous reel; image quality is very nice. Kit also comes with a 128gb card which is convenient. GPS is spot-on with speedometer, and works almost instantaneously with vehicle movement. Got this on an Amazon special at $99, so well worth the money at the time.

Highly Recommend
Son was in a traffic accident a week ago and seems like we see at least one a day around here. Due to this we decided to purchase cams for all of our vehicles. I Googled and found these cameras on all the Top 5 lists. So I decided to place the order and give them a chance. I don’t have much experience with them but fortunately the nephew has a well-known brand name one that I can compare it to.The main thing I wanted to see in my comparisons was video quality. So I installed the cam and went for a ride. The first time was at night. From what I could tell its pretty close to one another. I couldn’t compare apples to apples due to different weather conditions but was happy with the comparison.Next was the daytime comparison. I took several video clips from each and streamed to my TV. They both had a clean, crisp video. There is glare in the video but to be expected and was comparable to the more expensive unit. I will definitely be buying the lens filter for it.I wasn’t there when my nephew’s camera was installed but my brother-in-law said it was a bit challenging to get it up and running. I had zero issues with installing the unit and getting it fully operational. I think it took 5 minutes or less. I was a bit confused because when connected to camera’s wifi you can’t use your phone. I decided to read the manual and realized the phone doesnt have to be connected for it to record. You do wifi so you can tweak the camera or download videos/photos from camera. You can also adjust settings on the unit itself. In conclusion, I saved around $100 withthis unit and I feel the quality is just as good but ease of use is better. I also forgot to mention I have rear camera with this one where the other did not. I didn’t include this in the review due not having installed it yet. I highly recommend this unit.Update: I have installed the rear cameras and checked out the video both day and night. The video is clear and really good quality. A nice feature I discovered is that in settings you can have the screen turn off after 1 minute but it continually records.

Peace of Mind
The Rove Dash Cam came nicely packaged, is easy to set up (excellent product manual), and has a user-friendly phone app. The system worked like a charm during the entire, nonstop, eleven hour drive; and it gave me peace of mind as I navigated the often treacherous Raleigh-Durham freeway with the inevitable pair of racing vehicles (100 + mph) that come out of nowhere and nearly clip the fronts of cars as they weave in and out of fast moving, heavy traffic. The high quality and compact front and rear dash cams will indubitably catch whatever is happening around the car. I appreciate the info on the front cam screen too (e.g. speed, direction) and the picture quality is amazing. Videos are high definition and can be easily locked. Highly recommend. A+ product.

One small issue, Otherwise GREAT
The media could not be loaded.
The front facing camera is equipped with a (1st gen) Sony Starviz 4k sensor, that being said, I have watched reviews of other cameras with this sensor that look a bit better than this camera with more crisp video. It comes with everything to get you started, camera, 128GB sd card, suction and sticky mount, 1080P rear cam (if you get the duo package) and all the cables needed to connect the cams and the 12v adapter. It was easy to install, the cable from the back camera is very long, so in a compact car, you may want to coil some of it up and tuck it away in the back. The first video shows the front camera daylight quality (don’t mind the dirty window) and the picture shows the night.PROs:It is good enough quality that you could get screen grams of incidents fairly easy. You can connect to your phone and get the videos on there or, like I do, just use the SD card. The camera will detect and kind of wreck and auto save the file so that it doesn’t get overwritten. The included 128gb SD card saves around 3 days of driving depending on how much you are on the road. The 1080P rear cam is decent quality and would work for incidents as well.Everything comes marked with red tags to make installation simple.Cons:Picture quality wasn’t as expected, still good though.Sometimes the camera doesn’t auto start with the car, I tested in 4 vehicles and sometimes it just doesn’t come on, pretty easy to turn on though so not a huge deal. The App for the phone requires sharing of lots of data.Definitely worth a buy if you drive for a living or even a side gig.4.5 starsHave a great day.

Excellent Dashcam AND Service after the sale!
I did a lot of research, as this was my first dashcam purchase. I decided to purchase the ROVE dashcam, as it offered a wide variety of features, at a reasonable price. I set the camera up and was surprised how crisp and clear the video recordings are. The camera has worked perfectly since day one, but one of the accessories failed recently. I contacted ROVE Customer Service via email, asking if the accessory was covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. I was shocked to find that it was and the ROVE representative, Ervin promptly sent a replacement accessory via the postal service. There’s a lot of import dashcams on the market, but ROVE has US based Customer Service and ships parts from a US warehouse. My replacement accessory arrived in less than 7 days. This positive experience proves to me that there are still some companies that are willing to stand behind their products AND provide excellent customer service after the sale. Thanks ROVE!

• “Great Camera for My Car!”
am extremely happy with this purchase! The camera is very easy to install, works perfectly, and the video quality is crystal clear both day and night. It gives me peace of mind while driving, knowing that everything is being recorded. The design is compact and does not block my view, and the features are exactly as described. Definitely one of the best investments I’ve made for my car. Highly recommended!

Excellent dash cam and good price too
I have 3 of these cameras. One for each car and I just bought this one for my son’s car. They are very clear on the picture and with the app easily connects to my phone so I can save or upload videos online. Easy to mount and run the wires with just a little bit of knowledge or common sense. The GPS is pretty accurate and by that I mean the speed is a mph or 2 off from what Speedo says. Had mine in my truck now for a little over 2 years in the desert temps and it’s held up to the heat nicely.

Great camera package that’s easy to install
So far, so good! Having bought an AZDOME dash cam on Amazon that works great, we decided to upgrade to a similar dual cam model. Easy to install, the provided wire tool made hiding the wires a piece of cake. Still need to figure out the best way to wire the rear camera on an opening tailgate window, as it requires extra slack and hangs down when closed. Was worried our Suburban would be too big for the rear cable length, but there was extra to spare.Unlike the AZDOME model, this one can use up to a 1 TB microSD card, which we also bought on Amazon for under $100. Works great! Everything was easy to program and the display looks excellent. The screensaver mode switches the display to show your speed and direction as you drive. Pretty cool. And if course in “live” mode you see both the front and rear camera views.Very pleased with this package overall.

Great Dash Cam for personal use
Rove Review: 1. Sorry for the long review, but this is what a review should be. Giving information about a product, so a customer can make an informed decision. 2. Came packaged very professionally, and with care in a sturdy box. All components were present. Arrived earlier than expected. 3. The camera unit has a little weight to it, indicating it is well made (in the USA), much better than another maker that’s in my SUV. This doesn’t have a battery, but is powered by the vehicle (while in use), and a Supercapacitator, when parked, availing it the ability to keep all saved data. My camera’s battery died 2 yrs ago requiring me to input my date/time every time I start the vehicle. 4. The various functions are easy to read and follow, with plenty of photos. They are all contained in a sturdily bound booklet that’s small enough to keep in the glove box for future reference. This shouldn’t be necessary since all the functions are accessible, via the IPhone, with quick descriptions of each function available right from the phone display. No more fiddling with tiny buttons on the camera, and contorting yourself to change settings. 5. Powered up right away. I decided on the 3 min segments of videos since they downloaded quicker, and I was able to send the video directly from my phone to another, via Text Messenger, which is important if the video needs to be sent to law enforcement, attorneys, insurance company’s, etc. Increased time segments results in larger bit space. 6. I didn’t experience the problems with video connecting and viewing from my phone others have reported in negative reviews in Amazon and especially the Apple Store App. I nearly didn’t purchase this, or any other WIFI connected camera because of these negative reviews. The whole point is to be able to access your videos when they’re needed without popping out the memory card or disconnecting the camera. JUST REMEMBER: you have to be in “Close Proximity” (within several feet) of the camera and the phone. It’s a transfer device, not a WIFI connection. When the Rove app shows up in the connectivity section of your phone, it reads in RED writing “Not Connected to the Internet”. This is normal and the camera will connect to your phone. You may also have to temporarily turn off your car’s Auto Connect function on Apple Play, as it will override the connection from the Rove App. 7. I had a lot of difficulty downloading the video app, Videolan, suggested by the manufacturer. I was never able to get it on my PC, hence the 3 min videos for ease of sharing. I was able to bring the video up on my 65” TV, via Airplay, and what a view!!! 8. DAYTIME: The video is discernible on the camera’s display, enough to see what has occurred, but when you connect it to a TV or PC with a larger screen, the display is incredibly sharp with very clear videos. The Rove icon (optional), Lat/Long, date/time, Vehicle tag number (optional), and Speed (optional) are clearly seen on the bottom of the video. Reminds me of reviewing my police car dash cam before I retired. 9. NIGHTTIME: ….the video is clear and displays basically everything you’re seeing with the front headlight beam projection. The rear video, for having no benefit of headlamps, is impeccable and displays a clear picture, gathering light sources that are available from vehicles, the roadside, etc. When the brake lights are applied, you can see the red reflection on the roadway markings. 10. Only qualm I have so far concerns the function of having the icons that display on the screen. When they are set to disappear after a selected amount of time, the display Speed also disappears. I like being able to view the speed on the camera and compare it to my speedometer speed. This is not a deal breaker, but I would hope they will consider changing that option. The icons are white and are not distracting. 11. Great function is the Voice Reminder that chimes in every minute telling you the camera is NOT Recording, just in case you inadvertently may have turned it off. It is just annoying enough to not be able to disregard it or not hear it. 12. There is an Emergency button on the camera with a Triangle symbol, similar to your car’s Emergency Flasher button, you can push to lock a video immediately, thereby preventing it from being deleted until you go into the file and manually deactivate the Hold/Lock. 13. Reviewing recorded data is easy on the phone. They are set in Front and Rear folders, the newest videos first, and, when uploaded to your phone, they are stored in your photos/videos folder just that way in Front and Rear separate folders, identified by the date/time. You have the ability to Delete selected videos, or delete All, or you can LOCK a video(s) so they don’t get accidentally deleted. 14. Comes with an included 128gb memory card which can hold a lot of videos, and this can be upgraded to as much as a TB card. I regularly delete the captured videos to keep the memory card clear, even though the videos self delete the oldest videos in a Loop feature, if you reach the card’s max data. 15. I turned off the Audio function as many may not appreciate my singing voice on every recording.;) 16. Set this up in my wife’s SUV (2023 Chevy Equinox). Suggest the front camera, either suction or permanent, be installed in the center of the windshield, just below the day/night sensor housing unit. The bracket hangs just low enough to allow a view of the display screen, just below the rear view mirror. The mirror blocks a view of the bracket itself, with NO view obstructions to the driver. If you put it on either side of that sensor housing, up near the windshield header, you’ll lose significant view to the upper left or right quarter of the front windshield which could be detrimental and block important information in a collision event. 17. The suction cup seems sturdy with a locking mechanism. So stable, when I needed to reposition it, I had to use the included trim tool to break the suction seal. 18. Plenty of wire to reach from the display, at the center of the windshield, to the cigarette lighter, with the front wire, and to the rear of the vehicle, via the rear wire. Remember to connect all wires to the camera before inserting the cigarette adaptor to Power Up. A trim tool is included in the box. Very handy. 19. This has been installed for about 2 weeks now, and I’ve ordered a second one for my vehicle to replace an older cheaper made camera that’s not IPhone connectable. 20. I didn’t use the Park Mode option, so I can’t speak to that. 21. I took my time for several months reviewing several cameras, and decided on Rove. They are Made In the USA, and HQ’d out of Mundelein, Ill (near Chicago), not CHINA (Great Big PLUS). Of all the ones I considered, all and all, Rove has the best reviews. It comes with an included MicroCard, another plus. Reasonably priced (added plus). Check out Rove’s site, you’ll probably find a Rebate!!! (Plus Plus). I had a small issue when I first installed with the download to my phone from the camera. I sent an email, and within an hour I had my answer. Did not initially activate Full Access to my photo library. Once I realized, with They are on the ball for customer satisfaction.(big plus)

High quality at a great price.
I recently purchased the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam from Amazon, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. As someone who drives long hours for work, I wanted a reliable dual-camera system to capture both front and rear views, and this one exceeded my expectations in every way. The package arrived quickly, complete with a free 128GB microSD card, which was a fantastic bonus—no need to buy extras right away. The build quality feels premium, with a sleek 3” IPS screen that’s bright and easy to navigate, even in direct sunlight.Installation was a breeze. The suction cup mount stuck firmly to my windshield, and the adhesive option for the rear camera was straightforward to set up on my sedan’s back window. The included cable clips and trim tool made hiding the wires professional-looking, taking me under 30 minutes total. Once powered up via the dual USB car charger, the dash cam booted instantly and started recording seamlessly. The video quality is outstanding. The front camera records in stunning 4K 2160P with the STARVIS 2 sensor, delivering crystal-clear footage day and night. Details like license plates and road signs are sharp, even at higher speeds, thanks to the 150° wide-angle lens and HDR technology. The rear 1080P camera provides solid coverage with a 140° view, capturing everything behind me without distortion. Low-light performance is impressive—super night vision handles dimly lit streets beautifully, reducing glare and enhancing visibility.I love the 5G WiFi connectivity; downloads hit up to 20MB/s through the intuitive ROVE app on my iPhone. Viewing live feeds, adjusting settings, and transferring videos is effortless—no lag or complications. Built-in GPS logs speed and routes accurately, embedding data into videos for undeniable evidence if needed. The 24H parking mode is a game-changer, with options for time-lapse, motion detection, and collision sensing via the G-sensor. It auto-locks important clips and has saved me peace of mind during overnight parking.Other perks include loop recording, voice guidance, and a supercapacitor that withstands extreme temperatures without issues. It supports up to 1TB storage, and OTA updates keep it future-proof. Overall, this dash cam offers incredible value—reliable, feature-packed, and user-friendly.
