Best AirPods Yet, but Fitment Could Be Better
I’ve owned nearly every generation of the standard Apple AirPods, and the AirPods 4 are without question the best yet in terms of quality, battery life, and features. The sound is fuller and more balanced than previous generations, and the addition of Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive Audio, and Personalized Spatial Audio really elevates the listening experience. That said, the one area where these fall slightly short for me is fitment. For whatever reason, the original first-generation AirPods stayed in my ears the most securely. With these, I find they can slip out more easily, especially when I tilt my head or move around. The Active Noise Cancellation is also solid but not groundbreaking — which is to be expected, given these are not in-ear, sealed headphones like the Pro models or over the head ones like Pro Max.As with most Apple products, you’re not buying these for raw “value.” There are more affordable earbuds out there (like Anker’s offerings) that will get the job done for less. What you’re paying for here is the seamless convenience within the Apple ecosystem — instant pairing, smooth device switching, and features that integrate effortlessly with iPhone, iPad, and Mac.If you’re already invested in Apple devices and want the best AirPods to date, these are worth it. However, if you’re happy with your 3rd gen AirPods, I wouldn’t say the upgrade is essential unless you’re already experiencing issues like I was (my 3rd gen had reduced battery life and microphone problems).

Fit similarly to the older V2, comfortable, good value, good sound, good battery life.
I was afraid to get these because the older version (2) with the longer stems actually fit well and were (relatively ) inexpensive. Good for someone who loses things. But the older ones are no longer made, so I bit the bullet. These were not much different in price. They have shorter stems and a slightly different fit but they still work well for me. I even wear one to bed to listen to my ‘book tape’ for 30 min to help fall asleep, and when I wake up in the night, it is usually still in my ear. I.e. comfortable enough for me to fall asleep with. Battery life seems good. About the same weight as older ones (V2) possibly a tad heavier. I purposely didn’t get noise cancelling ones because I walk a lot on sidewalks and need to be aware of my surroundings. Also, those are more expensive; but people really like the noise cancelling ability and say you can shut that off. (That would definitely help on planes, but meanwhile, I am happy with these).

Very good quality, noice cancellation works amazing
I love these Airpods a lot. This is my third pair and I like it better than both the ones I had before this. This is definitely the most comfortable one I’ve had. Compared to the airpods pro that also offer noise cancellation, this one is way more comfortable. The airpods pro kind of hurt after a while but this didn’t happen with the airpods 4s even though I would have it in for hours at times. The noice cancellation is really good, I was able to mute off basically all the outside noise in the library when I was doing work and really helped with concentration. This is cheaper than the airpods pros and definitely more worth it if you’re deciding between the two. The size is also smaller than the other models and it fits in all my pockets and it’s extremely light to carry. The sound quality is also amazing and it has the same functions as the pros at a much lower price. The battery health is also impressive, I charge it like once a week and I’ve had it for around a month and it has never died/ran out of batteries yet and I use it basically every day. This is great quality for the price and definitely worth the money especially if you can get it on sale during sales like prime day.

AMAZINGG AIRPODS GUYS TRUSTTT
AMAZINGG! Ive been wanting AirPods for a very long time and these are perfect! The noise cancellation is amazing, and so is the sounding of the music!! I love it so much! I also love the feel of them, super smooth, and they fit perfectly in my ears. Honestly I love how they function, and Ive had AirPods before so I can trust that they are very reliant and durable.

Very good, except the way they fit.
My husband got me these and they work really well, but I don’t love how they fit in my ear.The sound is really good with these and the noise canceling works so well I don’t hear much except what I’m listening to. But if I start talking, it will lower what I’m listening to or stop it completely so I can hear myself and whoever I’m talking to. It will also turn the volume up based on how noisy it is around you.I also like how you can just tap to pause and play things as well as skip (you can set up on your phone how you like it best. One tap is skip or 2 taps is play etc) and the wireless connectivity is amazing. I just use hey siri and I can do so many things without holding my phone.Even though these are really nice, I do find that they loosen in my ears more often than I’d like so when I’m adjusting them it pauses my music because it thinks I’m tapping it. And that can get quite annoying. That being said, I still use them everyday and I think the value is worth the money

I can’t hear you! The noise cancellation works!!!
Pros: even smaller than my previous set. Noise cancellation works! Clear sound. Connecting to my iPhone is a breeze. Amazing battery life.Cons: Hard to get out of the case. Can be knocked out of the ear on a plane or in the gym. or on a hike. I haven’t had it happen but I can see that losing one on a plane would be a complete nightmare. Seats are too tight to bend over to find anything and it might get stepped on.This is my second set of Apple AirPods. I got these to test out the noise cancellation. I was skeptical that such tiny buds could do anything to cancel noise but they actually work! I will be taking a 3 hour plane trip next month and that was the primary reason for the purchase. The steady drone of the airplane engines really bothers me.One thing that is a little tricky about these AirPods is getting them out of the case. My older set could be pulled out from behind the head of the pod but I haven’t figured out the best way to remove these. They are held in by magnets so you can’t just turn them over and have them fall out in your hand. That’s a good thing, of course, but I’m still testing out ways to get the little suckers out.I am not someone who needs the latest technology so these Generation 2 older earbuds work fine for me. All I need is clear sound, ease of connecting and noise cancellation. These meet all my needs and the price was great.

Exactly as expected! (A subjective review, duh)
I never take the time to write reviews because why spend so much time on something that will ultimately have no effect on my life? Well in this case, these Airpods have met and exceeded every single one of my expectations and I figured that was worth writing about.Important disclaimers:- OF COURSE this is a subjective opinion, because that is all a review is. Take it with a grain of salt.- Different products work better or worse for different people, it’s just that simple.- When talking about noise cancelling headphones, it’s important to consider them for what they are, not what we think they SHOULD be.THE FIT:OKAY. I am someone who has very small ear cannals. I have spent years trying to find earbuds that fit my ears comfortably. Silicone in-ear tips have always been extremely uncomfortable for me. That being said, I did own the first gen Airpods Pro for a couple of years before buying these Airpods 4. I wanted earbuds that I could exercise with, use for commuting, and use for blocking out sound when I’m at school or on an airplane. The airpods pro fit the bill, but I could only wear them for short periods of time before they would start to seriously hurt. On top of that, they would always slowly come out of my ears. It didn’t matter what size of eartips I used. My ears are just NOT made for in-ear silicone tips. BUT THESE AIRPODS 4!!! Holy smokes they are so comfortable. They never fall out. I can wear them for hours at a time and not even notice them. I haven’t worn a pair of Airpods this comfortable since the gen 2 Airpods. The 3’s didn’t work for me either, but somehow apple really cooked up the ideal fit for these Airpods 4.THE NOISE CANCELLATION:Okay. Obviously, these are NOT going to have the same level of noise reduction as in-ear earbuds because there is no seal created by any silicone tips. If Airpods Pros and silicone tips have always worked for you, just buy those. However, considering that the noise cancellation in these Airpods is ALL driven by software, I have been extremely impressed with the results. It reduces the white noise of annoying sounds like public trains, airplanes, etc. very effectively. While voices and other louder sounds aren’t cancelled completely, when music is playing through the earbuds these noises are quite enough to hardly notice. For me, that’s enough. I don’t need complete silence, I have my over-ear noise cancelling headphones for that.THE SOUND QUALITY:When I say that I was blown away the first time I listened to music on these Airpods, I was NOT kidding. The amount of bass that they managed to pack in to such small, open-eared earbuds is frankly impressive. The sound profile allows for an incredible listening experience no matter what genre of music you listen to (I listen to a wide range of pop, folk, indie, and rap primarily).THE OVERALL VERDICT:These Airpods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are exactly as I expected them to be. They fit extremely well, the ANC is very acceptable for what they are, and they sound amazing. That’s not to mention the TINY case that they come in, making them so easy to slip anywhere. I have been looking for a solid pair of earbuds with ANC that work with my ears for the longest time now. I’m happy to say that these are everything I’ve ever wanted. If you have had issues with silicone ear-tip earbuds fitting you properly, then these are definitely worth a shot!

Good but not the best Apple can do
As almost every bluetooth earphone user has experienced, I lost mine a few months ago. They were the Airpods 2nd generation. Despite being a little dated, I held onto them because they were very reliable and gave me decent sound. One sad day I could not find them anywhere. After some thought, I got some cheaper pair of earphones from a different company. Let’s say I’ve never listened to so few music before, they were really uncomfortable and I decided to ditch them.Eventually I got these pair of earphones, the Airpods 4th generation with active noise cancelling (ANC) functionality. They are very good in some aspects. Particularly, they have good sound and microphone, the ANC is impressive, and the charging is pretty quick. With respect to my old 2nd gen, I find that these earphones are a little less reliable in connectivity: sometimes they act up and go mute out of the blue (it has happened a handful of times since I got them). In addition, battery life is a little worse than what I expected. My previous pair would last days and days without charging but I need to charge these ones every two or three days. This is all usage dependent, of course.Overall, I like them, don’t regret my buy but they still have room for improvement.

RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE WHO IS SENSITIVE TO LOUD NOISE.
I have every single Apple Bluetooth listening device except the giant over the ear ones, and these are my favorite. The Pros with silicone tips irritate my ears to the point that I had to get a prescription for ear drops. They also fell out when I was on a walk. Back then, Apple considered it a repair to replace one. I think that is because there’s a lot of theft around these devices, so if you got a replacement, it would show up as a mismatch on Find My and other apps. My 1st generation can’t hold much of a charge anymore. I got these because I’m desperate for noise cancellation that works. It’s so seamless. Whatever you’re listening to can be set to lower to background when the wearer speaks or another human voice speaks within hearing. This is so much better for walking on somewhat busy trails that have bike riders coming up behind me. They usually say something so they don’t whiz by me, scaring me to death. The pods detect their warning words INSTANTLY and the music or podcast drops low or shuts off (settings). I have no idea how it does this, but I love it. I go to live music and wear them. It keeps the input at a safe decibel level. I have only lost one on a very hot humid day. Found out now Apple will just sell a replacement if you have warranty coverage, instead of making customers make an appointment and sit at the Genius Bar for a couple of hours. I love the small size. My hearing is still good, maybe too good, because I really hate the sounds of gas-powered lawn equipment, which is going on all the time in my neighborhood. Highly recommend. Amazon knocks off a few dollars, so I buy them here, but Apple service remains great. The case stopped charging and I got a replacement under warranty very quickly via UPS. Or perhaps it was a repair. They sent me a pre-paid shipping box. I dropped it off at UPS, and within 3 days I had them back (or maybe the case was replaced – haven’t checked to see if the serial number has changed.

These Do Not Fall Out!
Where do I begin? Six months ago i purchased the more expensive Apple AirPod Pro 4 after using Bose ear buds since they first made them, early 2000s. I liked the AirPod Pro 4, but i could not keep the darn things in my ears, especially in my left ear. They come with the tips in several sizes. It took me a week to find which tip was the most effective at keeping in my ear. That was a headache. Still they occasionally fell out when i was in the grocery store, etc. Light duty stuff. Okay, with some behavior modification, never bending over, never sweating, or never really moving, they would stay in my ears. Maybe. So hectic 4th of July weekend i jump in the car, as i reach to put the car in drive the right one fell out of my ear. Hit my shoulder and tumbled, landing on the little rubber part of the emergency brake where it attaches to the car. I held my breath as i reached for it as it sat right in the middle of rubber slit. If i touched too hard it might separate the slit & fall into the car. Softly i tried to lift it off the rubber. It slipped between the slit and i heard it hit the metal bottom of the car. I grabbed my flashlight, separated the slit and saw it sitting about 8-9” lower on the bottom of the car. I tried for several hours to snag that thing but i could not get it. So, i ordered these because they were less expensive. Period. Like my AP4 the sound was exceptional. It was much easier to set up than the AP4. I live in my AirPods. I wear them gardening, shopping, in the car, mowing the lawn, cleaning the house. I do not leave my house until they’re in my ears. I love the noise canceling feature, but also wear them without music if I’m in public & I don’t want to chat with people. But the thing i love the most…they fit right in my ears and stay there. They don’t feel like they’re about to fall out. These do not have the rubber tips, but they fit, i can bend over, i can move. Now I have only had them a couple days so I gave them a 4 because i never write a review for anything electronic until i’ve used it quite a bit, so after a few months i will update and if everything works out i will upgrade it. A few more things about these that i like when you tap them to turn on the music, it comes on instantly, i think Apple refers to that as the buttons. Response time is much quicker to turn on and off. There is not a pause like the 4. It has a crisper sound than the 4. My 4s would occasionally lose connectivity, but these do not. Sometimes it pays to buy the less expensive item, especially if you get it on Amazon Prime Day. Also, this set comes in a smaller case than 4 so it’s prone to slide right out of your hand. I have a small hand & this thing is hard to hang onto. I ordered a strong case to slip this case into in a bright color so its easier to find in my handbag and to make it more durable. Glad i found these.
