All I have to do is pick up the bag with the cats deposits and throw it away; and the carbon filters do hold down the odor. The only problem I have is that it is a little too short for my cats. One is 9 lbs and the other is 11+. If they don’t do their business outside of the litter area, it works fineI then filled it and turned it on but also left her regular litter box until I was sure she would use this. It only took 1 day for her to begin using it! So far, this is working great. I set the app to clean after 20 minutes. You can also tell it to “clean now” in the app, if needed, or push a button on the unit to clean without using the app. It is quiet and does exactly what it is supposed to do! I can check the app and see how many times my cat has used it. It is easy to check the bag (located at the front of box) to see when it needs to be changed. This has been a game changer for me! An undisputed large space: this is the number one reason I bought it. My two cats are both big, and they can very easily change direction and scrape sand in it, and they don’t feel cramped at all. Highly recommended!Honestly, the one without the bag/waste compartment runs smoother than this one. This thing is janky. The rake frequently gets stuck on the waste compartment and it smears wet litter into the edges and sides so I have to frequently clean it anyway. The waste compartment doesn’t really have much of a filter to keep in smell like the nicer quality self cleaning litter boxes I’ve used before. It’s rather pricey, too. I wanted to return it and invest the money into something elseThe Safe Anti-Pinch mechanism works well to prevent cat getting injured, my cat was so curious to touch the machine first day when he saw the box spinning for self cleaning, and this machine stopped immediately. So far it always self clean 1 minutes after my cat using the litter. Overall, this is an excellent machine for a much lower price. The only thing I wish manufacturer can upgrade or improve is to add the ability connecting a 5G wifi signal instead of only 2.4g wifi. So in this case I don’t bother to install the app since I just don’t have a 2.4g wifi at home.

Does a great job trapping whatever few litter bits come out with my kitten and looks great!

I bought this since it said leakproof. Unfortunately, that is not the case. The size was perfect for where I needed it but my finicky cat peed on the mat and soaked through.

It’s taken a while for the cats to get used to it, but I think it’s gonna be fine once they do.

Not very happy so far. I had an older version of this (purchased around 2015) that worked quite well for several years. The litter became prohibitively expensive and we switched to a regular litter box for 3 years. After 3 years of that, I decided to go back to this. My cat took to it right away – I think he prefers this one due to its size and that it is always fresh a few mins after he goes.However so far I am disappointed with the overall system. The box came with one tray of crystals, and after 3 days it started erroring out on its return after scooping due to getting stuck. The rake was getting clogged with wet crystals. I mixed up some of the wet crystals with dry. But two days later (5 days since starting) the crystals (and tray) are literally saturated with urine to the point that it is pooling in the bottom. This kind of tray/crystals used to last 3, maybe 4 weeks? Now after 5 days I had to swap the litter tray and clean up a huge mess too. Unless my cat peed what, a cup or more a day? Maybe he pees more since he’s older now, but still, 3 days before malfunctioning?Was the bag of crystals it came with only a small “starter” bag to get you going for a week? Didn’t seem like it – there was a good amount in the tray. Maybe it was the crystals that were bad somehow? I don’t know. I want to give the box itself a chance so I got a refill (8lb bag) from PetSafe to try that out in a reusable tray. Not sure what I’ll do if the same thing happens.
