Highly recommend if purchasing an Oura Ring — measure twice, buy once
If you’re planning to buy the Oura Ring 4, this sizing kit is almost essential. Here’s my straight-talk review:What I liked:The sizing kit gives you multiple trial rings (sizes 4-15) to test your finger and fit.Best Buy+2Android Authority+2It helps you understand that Oura’s ring sizing doesn’t match standard ring sizes — many users found they needed a different size than their usual jewelry ring.The fit matters a lot: the company says a proper fit leads to better comfort and data accuracy.You typically receive a credit toward your actual ring purchase, so the sizing kit effectively reduces risk.One small caveat:The sizing rings are made of plastic and feel different than the actual titanium ring. Some people notice differences in how the plastic kit fits versus the final product.You’ll need to wear the sizing ring for at least 24 hours (and ideally through normal daily activities) to check comfort, swelling, finger variation.Bottom line:If you’re buying the Oura Ring 4, get the sizing kit first. The fit for this worked out well. I used a sizer at Best Buy. This has been very helpful for me to learn more about my sleeping habits. I’ve been able to make adjustments that have really changed my energy levels. It’s also been very validating on days when I feel exhausted and my ring reflect this back to me. The charge for me is about 3 days. I’m tracking so many interesting things like how caffeine impacts my stress, or reading before bed impacts my sleep. I’m getting clear on my menstrual cycle which has been hard due to my autoimmune disease, It’s expensive and I think I’m getting my moneys worth.

The sizing kit is a must!
I am so glad that I got the sizing kit, rather than going by my normal ring size, or the size I thought would work when I tried it on a display in the store. Since you should wear your Oura Ring pretty much any time it’s not charging it’s super important to wear your sizing ring for at least 24 hours to make sure the fit is right. I don’t wear rings very often and no was surprised at how differently the rings fit during the day and after sleeping due to natural swelling.I wasn’t quite sure which finger I wanted to wear my Oura Ring on once it came it, so I actually wore one sizer on my index finger and one on my middle finger so I could really get a feel for what felt best. After wearing the sizes for a couple of days and switching the sizes a couple of times I landed on a size 10 on my middle finger and it is perfect.Once I got my ring I realized that it does feel just slightly looser than the sizer ring, so I will say if you are between sizes go with the smaller of the two. You want the ring to be snug to get accurate readings.

Amazon, despite complaints, views the Ōura Ring Sizing Kit as the same or a similar item as the Ōura Ring 4, itself… thus, two DIFFERENT reviews AND ratings for two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT products.————–1) THE ŌURA RING SIZING KIT / 5-StarsŌura states that the Ring 4 sizes are NOT the same as traditional ring sizes.I did NOT break out my Ring Sizing Loops to determine the veracity of that statement because the cost, of the Ring 4 Sizer, on Amazon is applied as a credit towards the cost of an Ōura Ring 4 WHEN purchased via Amazon.I will say that there is perhaps a little difference, compared to traditional ring sizes, but I’m not sure that it’s much because I ended up with the ring size that I thought would work.Interestingly enough, size 10 that I expected for the middle finger was a perfect fit for the Index finger, which is normally a traditional 9… so there is some difference in the sizing and I wholeheartedly recommend procuring the Ōura Ring 4 Sizer BEFORE purchasing the Ōura Ring 4.NOTE that the Ōura Ring 4 Sizer does not work for all Ōura Ring models, so anyone deciding to purchase a previous iteration of the Ōura Ring, due to cost decrease and/or a Sale, will need to utilize the correct Ōura Ring Sizer for the model ring chosen.If there is a question of Sale or Discount Pricing, due to the delay from checking ring sizes, then I suggest an online Chat with Amazon Customer Service representative to make sure that you can lock in any discounts to use after verifying the correct Ring size.FYI – Ōura recommends wearing the sizing ring on the finger that will bear the ring, in order to become accustomed to the ring size/feel and to see how well it fits throughout a normal day.I followed that advice and I believe that everyone should do the same.—————-2) Ōura Ring 4 / 1-StarFirst, even with the ring sizing kit and wearing the sizer non-stop until the Ring 4 arrived, the size of the Ring 4 in only whole sizes proved inadequate. My hands clearly fluctuate enough in size to be an issue, regardless of the finger or hand that is used.Next, the heart rate (HR) was always available and showing in the app, signifying that the Ring 4 was measuring the HR, HOWEVER, the app called to show the graph of the HR for over two (2) weeks, meaning there was no history nor any assessment available.Next, the Sleep function, even with learning curve, seemed to function out of the box, HOWEVER, after the first recharge of the Ring 4, there was an issue with accurately recording start and stop points of Sleep AND eventually the app would show No Sleep Data AFTER uploading/updating UNTIL THE NEXT day. There was no event showing for sleep ALTHOUGH the Ring 4 clearly annotated the Start of the Sleep period the previous night.Next, even after more than three (3) weeks of use, the app has failed to graph the Blood Oxygen Saturation, in spite of showing the data observed and available to see at any given moment. Again, I find this to be very odd and indisputably useless to the user.Next, the App is full of “flash” or substance but in terms of a quick overall view of all the numbers, like most Apps, no such uncluttered view can be found. While the plethora of information and links is appreciated, the search to locate immediate data numbers across all items is tedious, frustrating and unappreciated.To provide an analogy, it’s like having to read an entire book to search for and locate the Synopsis of the book. For those who aren’t into books, then it’s like watching a TV and THEN SEEING the Preview for the show that you just watched.I and most users seem to prefer a Table of Contents approach where the Raw Data is shown and then you can click to go to the Analysis, Assessment and Suggestions for that particular Biometric.In short, the App’s interface is beautifully flashy and showy but about as useful up front as a Show Pony on a crop farm.That makes it overwhelming, even to those who are focused readers and moreso to the vast majority who are not.Finally, many details and assessments are NOT available for anywhere from four (4) weeks to three (3) or more months.While understandable, it makes it impossible to fully assess the personal value and utility of the Ring 4 in the 30-day period for returns.That means that the $400+ ring and the annual subscription fee is only acceptable for those with money to burn, so to speak, because all of the shortcomings or issues, even if expandable and temporary, outweigh the cost of what is actually a pretty doggone accurate piece of tech wear, resulting in the clear choice to return the ring.AND… there is one other issue to consider which is that if your hands swell, perhaps from work, or shrink, perhaps from weight loss, then your $400+ ring AND subscription become useless… until you purchase another Ōura Ring that does fit.Based on my research and experience, there are equally accurate smart fitness watches with solid Apps and reasonable insights and suggestions based on the assessment of the biometrics.Also, there is another smart ring on the market that appears to rival the Ōura Ring in accuracy, provides an seemingly identical App for all appearances seen, comes as an adjustable ring using the same high-end materials and sensor setup AND which additionally boasts being approved and classified as a Medical Grade Device, instead of a Consumer Grade Device.All of that at a far, far lower cost AND the same updates, assessments, insights and suggestions BUT with NO subscription fee.That being said, I am a Go/No-Go tester of products meaning things are either 5-star or 1-star with enough details for people to decide that my 1-star item might be good enough to be their 3- or 4-star item.The Ring 4 failed to make the grade for my needs nor was it able to justify keeping the ring to see if things improved or the money was worth the extended wait for certain observations, but it was remarkably accurate when comparing data to manual results, such as HR, SpO2, etc.There is no blood pressure data, for those in search of BP function. I am not sure that BP could be accurately obtained below the wrist at this point in technology, but maybe in the future.REMEMBER that when returning an Ōura Ring, you MUST also CANCEL the Ōura App Subscription as it is a separate financial issue from the purchase.The subscription is free for the first 30-days and a part of setting up your account before you are able to use the App, so it’s an easy thing to forget.3) Addendum — there is a charging cable organizer with a carabineer that works GREAT for the Ōura Ring 4 charging station and cable that is available on Amazon AND IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.That is my next review and it will be 5-Stars.It was kind of a why-the-heck-not afterthought purchase that became an INSTANT 5-Star Should Have item as soon as I unpackaged it!!!!

super worth it purchase for cycle tracking
amazing for tracking your cycle with natural cycles without having to check your basal body temp with a thermometer !! it literally checks your temp all night ! it was super easy to set up, but it does get scratched easily so i wiuld not say that it is super durable. i personally dont think the scratches are that noticible but they are deffinitly are there ! it is really comfortable and you stop even noticing it is there. it looks much better than a smart watch but it is obviously not like a beautiful ring or something ya know its a plain silver looking thick band.

Three week review.
I have only had this device for three weeks, so I feel I can’t do a complete review of the product–yet. The good and the bad for the first few weeks is what I can offer and I will update as the matrix begins to develop on the app. I believe it said up to 6 months of use to get the most of the device.I purchased this with HSA to help track my everyday vitals and use it for exactly what it is designed to do. I would compare to the Apple Watch — which I have had for years and love. I like the ease and comfort of the ring.The Oura seems to track more what I would like to use it for. So far, so good. I really love how quickly the ring gathers data and tracks it. VERY easy set up, super comfortable and stylish. Definitely take advantage of the ring sizing guide to get the perfect fit. The ring suggests course corrections and adjustments to make daily quality of life better. I have yet to dig deep into the weeds of the app, but so far, there is A LOT of information to utilize. Even more than I will use it for.Those are the perks thus far, here is the down side. The only reason for my early 4-star is two things:One, the cost. Very expensive($525), is the the cost of similar devices. I don’t mind the cost if it does what it says, which so far, yes- and beyond. The ring itself, scratches super easy. I find myself buffing daily. I am no expert on Titanium, but three weeks in with everyday wear, it looks like I’ve been wearing for years. The app does a great job explaining care. Make sure to take a look at that.Second, is the proprietary subscription. I feel that with the cost of the ring, there should be at the very least a year subscription or something similar rather than just 30 days.

A great compliment to collect and collaborate health information gathered by a smartwatch.
My husband bought each of us a ring for our birthdays. I was planning to return mine because I have an Apple watch and it seemed redundant. After reading more about the rings features, I decided to use it. It has features that are not available on my watch and gives a more accurate picture of my sleep and activity. It captures apneic events that I was unaware I was having as well as just how little I truly sleep. I have not slept well in more than 13 years, due to spine and shoulder injuries and subsequent surgeries. I never felt my providers believed me that I am unable to sleep for more than 1-2 hrs at a time. I frequently need to get up and walk around, sleep in a recliner or on the floor…. Lack of adequate sleep has taken a toll on my physical and mental wellbeing. Now, I have much more accurate proof of my severity disrupted sleep quality. My watch will record disruptions, but I’m right handed and wear my watch on my left wrist, so it will record me as sleeping because if I’m reading, my left hand is pretty still. This gives a much more accurate picture because I can wear it on may right hand. I think the ring and watch compliment each other in painting a more accurate picture. I would not replace either with just 1 or the other, because some capabilities aren’t available on both. For instance, my watch can detect a hard fall and call 911 if I am unable to confirm that I am ok. Due to spinal nerve damage, I fall frequently and have had some severe injuries, so my watch is vital in that respect. If you are looking for one device that does it all, I am unaware of one. If you are looking for a device to complement and back up the information that is gathered on one device, you cannot go wrong with this ring. I highly recommend a silicone cover for the ring, because it does scratch easily. That being said, my 14 k wedding ring has taken a lot of abuse over the 30 years I’ve worn it, so it could just be that I’m pretty rough on my hands and the loss/decreased (of) sensation in my hands definitely contributes to the scratches. Overall, I really like the features of this ring and that I have a much more accurate picture of how little I sleep, because I’ve always felt that my healthcare providers feel that I have to exaggerate how little I sleep.

I hesitated to order the Oura ring, but my doctor really wanted me to get it–mainly to monitor my sleep. It has been very interesting to see changes in stress levels and generally how I am feeling. I got the brushed silver because I thought it would be less apt to show scratches. So far, only one small scratch and I have to look for it to see it. I think it is less likely to scratch than the other style and colors.

I love my oura ring!
I’ve had my oura ring for quite a while now. I just hit my 6 month anniversary with it.COMFORT: I was worried it would be bulky on my finger and get in the way, but I honestly forget I’m even wearing it. I also really like the way it looks on my finger so that’s never been an issue for me. Honestly, sometimes when I take it off to charge it, I feel bare without it on!TRACKING: it automatically tracks my workouts. It can pick up when I’m doing what. For example, I do a lot of walking strength training, play softball, and play pickle ball and somehow it always knows which one I have done and will automatically ask if I have just completed whatever work out. I think it tracks nicely I’ve worn it while I’ve also worn my Apple Watch just to test if they were similar and they were the same as far as heart rate and calories burned.INSIGHTS: I included a snapshot of my homepage on the aura app. It tracks my stress throughout the day and recognizes when something’s not quite right. The most amazing thing I’ve seen with the ring so far is that it has told me I’m getting sick before I’ve even felt sick.DURABILITY: the ring is extremely durable. I do wear a cover on it and have not worn it without one since I’ve gotten it, but I have seen other peoples chip and wear down- just normal wear and tear. However, the covers I got prevent this and mine looks just as good as the day I got it. I hardly ever take my ring off and it still works just as perfect as it did the day I got it. I’ve even worn it in the shower and to the beach.Overall, I’m happy I got this ring. I’ve enjoyed it since I’ve gotten it. I did not rank it five stars because I do not love that you have to pay for a membership. Although it is just five dollars a month that can add up. But overall, if you were considering getting this, I do recommend it.

Mixed Feelings…
No. So disappointed. I’ve had this ring since January 2025. I was disappointed that it’s worthless without a subscription. Can’t even use basic things without that. The size isn’t large enough. The data I get is good – but nothing better than what my Apple Watch does. I wear them both and while the data isn’t exact for them (they don’t match 100%) they are very very VERY close. What I loved about the ring originally, was the fact I only needed to charge it once a week. Now, it’s at least once a day. I’m cancelling my subscription and won’t use the ring any more.EDIT (10/30/25): well I reached out to support today. When you invest monies that you don’t really have into something, you want it to work. Anyhow – they ran a virtual check on my ring and found an issue, so they are replacing it. That’s kind of cool. I can appreciate that. I’m still standing by my statement(s). The details are very similar to my watch… I loved the ring because it’s nice looking and the charge lasted for a week+.
