“Even Better Than Expected!”
I recently upgraded to the AirPods 4th Generation, and I’m really impressed. The sound quality is noticeably better—clear, balanced, and with deeper bass. They connect instantly to my iPhone, and the battery life is solid for daily use.The new design feels more comfortable in my ears, even after long periods of wear. I also noticed that the noise cancellation and transparency modes are much improved compared to previous versions. What I like most: • Clearer audio and stronger bass • Improved fit and comfort • Fast, automatic connection • Better noise control features • Great for calls and workoutsIf you’re thinking about upgrading, it’s definitely worth it. Apple really took a good product and made it even better

Fit similarly to the older V2, comfortable, good value, good sound, good battery life.
I was afraid to get these because the older version (2) with the longer stems actually fit well and were (relatively ) inexpensive. Good for someone who loses things. But the older ones are no longer made, so I bit the bullet. These were not much different in price. They have shorter stems and a slightly different fit but they still work well for me. I even wear one to bed to listen to my ‘book tape’ for 30 min to help fall asleep, and when I wake up in the night, it is usually still in my ear. I.e. comfortable enough for me to fall asleep with. Battery life seems good. About the same weight as older ones (V2) possibly a tad heavier. I purposely didn’t get noise cancelling ones because I walk a lot on sidewalks and need to be aware of my surroundings. Also, those are more expensive; but people really like the noise cancelling ability and say you can shut that off. (That would definitely help on planes, but meanwhile, I am happy with these).

Great sound quality
I love my AirPods. I use them everyday and the sound quality is great. The noise canceling is amazing without the uncomfortable squishy in the ear piece. They charge fast but I wish the battery life was longer. Fits in my pocket great and connects to the phone in seconds. The quality is always good when it comes to apple products.

Recommend if you have small ears!!
These airpods are great! I have little ears and they fit in my ears PERFECT! They also have great sounf quality and are very functional. These come with a lot of features such as active noise cancellation, personalized spatial audio and great call quality! They are also very durable and they are compatible with my iphone 16 pro max. They can also be used with non apple devices but obviously wont include some of the features! HIGHLY recommend. They are compatible with usb c but the only thing is these dont come with a charger in the box so beware of that. The bass is AMAZING!!!!

Good but not the best Apple can do
As almost every bluetooth earphone user has experienced, I lost mine a few months ago. They were the Airpods 2nd generation. Despite being a little dated, I held onto them because they were very reliable and gave me decent sound. One sad day I could not find them anywhere. After some thought, I got some cheaper pair of earphones from a different company. Let’s say I’ve never listened to so few music before, they were really uncomfortable and I decided to ditch them.Eventually I got these pair of earphones, the Airpods 4th generation with active noise cancelling (ANC) functionality. They are very good in some aspects. Particularly, they have good sound and microphone, the ANC is impressive, and the charging is pretty quick. With respect to my old 2nd gen, I find that these earphones are a little less reliable in connectivity: sometimes they act up and go mute out of the blue (it has happened a handful of times since I got them). In addition, battery life is a little worse than what I expected. My previous pair would last days and days without charging but I need to charge these ones every two or three days. This is all usage dependent, of course.Overall, I like them, don’t regret my buy but they still have room for improvement.

AirPods 4 reviews. Best ones I’ve used so far
Got to say that these are excellent wireless earbuds for the day to day tasks. Been looking for sometime a pair of earbuds that wouldn’t sound like i was talking into an empty tin can or like im whispering during calls or Teams meetings and these AirPods solve those needs, in addition to Active Noice Cancelling handling those calls while on the move in an noisy environment are certainly a grace and for the people on the other end they can understand what i am saying without much trouble. Sound quality is very good for music, videos and podcasts as you would expect from them. The charging case is small and compact, fits well in my jeans although i would recommend a protective case with a strap. Battery usage relatively meets my requirements for the usage as a person who have them for 3-4 hours continuously with noise canceling on and they manage to have at least 25-30% battery on each bud, but with the charging case’s battery i don’t worry much if i don’t charge it for 2 days.

ANC is a game changer
Coming from the pro1s, I appreciate the more pronounced bass. ANC is not as good as the pros but still decent enough to block the constant 60 db noise at my work. I like the option without the silicon tips. Not sure if it could block a flight noise though. The fit is not that great, they definitely fall as soon as I lean forward, but they are not uncomfortable, making it possible to wear longer without my ears hurt. Not recommended for gym. Having a speaker for charging notifications and usb-c for charging are also appreciated.

Fall out of ear, ANC useless
At first I didn’t like them. They fall out of my ears easily. But then I just realized that I use them everyday. The battery life is not good so I use them one at a time. I have to alternate between these and my AirPods Pro 2 which I use two days out of the week. If you are in constant motion don’t use these. I’ve lost the buds more times than I can count and I use them at work In a warehouse. They are easy to use and very comfortable in my ears but they fall out easily and I have to constantly adjust them. They were very light and and in my opinion they are too expensive. They connect easily to your iPhone and they are that apple quality. I don’t know about ANC. They are only good in a place without a lot of sound.

Great ANC in a comfortable, portable package. UPDATE: Potential quality issues…
If you’re an Apple fan, you’ve probably already put these in your cart, regardless of reviews. But I am not an Apple fan. In fact, I kind of hate the brand for a plethora of reasons and would not own any of their devices in a perfect world. However, my philosophy is to purchase items that are the best at what I need them for, regardless of brand. Keeping this in mind, I can say that I am very happy with my 4th gen Airpods with ANC. If you are looking for an actual review of this item from someone without the Apple-colored glasses on, keep reading.I bought the 2nd gen Airpods (not the pros) in 2020 because they were pretty much the best true wireless, non in ear earbuds in the market at that time. The “non in ear” part is the biggest requirement for me. My 2020 Airpods have lasted me 4+ years so far, even after I dropped one in water. They’re still working great and I have no need to replace them, but I wanted to get a new, upgraded pair and then I can keep the 2020 ones in my bag at all times as a backup. When I saw that these had ANC, I was skeptical but excited. I have Bose headphones for ANC like when I’m working or on a flight, and honestly having ANC has been great. But Bose headphones are big and clunky and uncomfortable, all things that make them not the greatest for daily use. Reviews for these Airpods said the ANC was pretty good, so I decided to pay the little bit extra and get them. Worse case was that I would never use the ANC and I’d have just overpaid for the same product but 4 years newer. Luckily, best case happened and that is that I am very happy with my purchase and use the ANC modes all the time.I know not everyone is a fan of the fit of non in ear earbuds like the Airpods have, but for me it’s great. In ear earbuds hurt my ears in just a few minutes. Earpod style earbuds (where it points into your ear canal but doesn’t insert in) are much more comfortable. The earbud part on these are a bit larger than my 2nd gen Airpods, but still fit decently. They feel pretty stable in/on my ear for my day to day usage, but I don’t think I would trust them to stay put for vigorous exercises like running or jogging. The ANC is fantastic. I wore these on a plane recently and when I had previously flown with my Bose headphones, the ANC made loud popping and crackling noises from time to time, and especially on take off and landing. But the Airpods’ ANC did not do that at all. They cancel out outside noise very well, just as well as my Bose headphones, and have less of a “eardrum pressure” feeling than my Boes headphones do.I like the multiple ANC modes. It has off, on, transparent, and adaptive. Off means it’s just normal earbuds, on filters out almost all outside noise, and transparent lets in all the extra noise so you can hear (similar to open ear headphones like bone conduction ones).Adaptive mode is great. You may think that it will dynamically choose the level of noise you get based on the name, but it doesn’t do that actually. There is a “conversation awareness” feature you can turn on or off that can reduce noise and amplify speech, but it only activates after *you* talk, instead of if someone talks to you. The way the adaptive mode works instead is that you can select the level of noise that you want allowed in. This is great because I have it tuned so I don’t hear environmental noises like the dehumidifier, heater, or my roommate working, but I can hear her talk. While using my Airpods with adaptive mode on a recent flight, I could hear the announcements and flight attendants, but the engine sound was greatly reduced and I could hear my music.Audio in general sounds pretty good. I’m no audiophile by any means, but I know what good quality sounds like. The profile to me is pretty flat, and with a basic EQ I’m able to get the sound I like. There’s not too much lag between video and audio, but there’s a very noticeable gap for a split second when you first start playing audio after having none playing. For example, a Slack notification on my Macbook might pop up, and then a second or two later the notification sound will play through my airpods. I’ve seen this same behavior in other Bluetooth headphones and earbuds so I guess it must be a technical limitation or a side effect of some sort of standby state on the connection.Battery life is pretty good. I went about 5-6 hours recently with ANC Adaptive mode on and music playing before I got a low battery bleep. My gen 2 Airpods could go a bit longer, and I’m guessing these have longer battery life if I were to turn off ANC. The case keeps you charged quickly on the go, and the case itself charges pretty fast. Plus it charges with USB C now, thank god. Practically everything in my life uses C now, except those gen 2 Airpods which use Lightning. I’m glad the EU made Apple finally add C.The controls now require you to squeeze the stem of the airpods instead of tapping like the gen 2 ones. Because I haven’t had the gen 3 Airpods or any of the pro models, maybe that’s the way it’s been for a while, but honestly I preferred tapping to pause or change songs. I was able to change the squeeze speed at least because it was a bit cumbersome at first and I kept dislodging my earbud before I got used to it.The Airpods work well with my Android (Pixel) phone, and really there’s no loss in functionality when using them with my phone or PC vs an Apple device. I think the only 2 features that I can’t use is 1) use Siri with them (ohhh noooo however will I survive) and 2) pause my music automatically when I remove an earbud (oh well). But all of the various settings and tweaks can really only be changed using an iPad, iPhone, or Mac. I luckily have an iPad (best tablet for digital art) and Macbook (very nice experience for coding or watching movies) so I set them up there, but you can also just use a friend’s device or probably a demo model at a store. There are some apps for Android that allow you to make some tweaks, but as of Jan 2025 I think only one of them has partial support for 4th gen Airpods with ANC. With my Pixel, phone calls are clear sounding for both me and who I’m talking to.Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase. I do think they’re overpriced (as is everything from Apple), but I also think that based on the 2 months I’ve been using them, they’ve been worth the money. If these last 4 years too, then they’ll be beyond worth it. If you are looking for ANC non in ear earbuds with good sound and decent battery life, these are in my opinion the best choice.UPDATE: A few days after writing this review (so 2 months after I got them), I was using my Airpods while cleaning and one fell out of my ear when I bent down to pick something up. It hit the hard floor and bounced a tiny bit. Mind you, this was a drop from less than 3 feet up… Shortly after that, everything in that earbud started sounding crackly regardless of ANC state. I quickly bought the Apple Care plan because this did not bode well for the longevity of these earbuds. I took the Airpods into the Apple store and the guy there replaced both earbuds for me, saying that sometimes a part in the earbud can become disloged if they drop hard, which would cause issues with ANC, so he wasn’t sure why it would affect the earbud with it off. He also said it doesn’t seem to be a common issue and maybe I just got a bad pair. They’ve worked fine in the 4 months since then, even when I similarly dropped one of the earbuds again. So fingers crossed that it was indeed a dud. But I can’t in good conscience still rate them 5 stars when there could be quality issues, especially when I definitely abused my 2nd gen ones way worse and they’re still chugging on nearly 5 years later…

These Do Not Fall Out!
Where do I begin? Six months ago i purchased the more expensive Apple AirPod Pro 4 after using Bose ear buds since they first made them, early 2000s. I liked the AirPod Pro 4, but i could not keep the darn things in my ears, especially in my left ear. They come with the tips in several sizes. It took me a week to find which tip was the most effective at keeping in my ear. That was a headache. Still they occasionally fell out when i was in the grocery store, etc. Light duty stuff. Okay, with some behavior modification, never bending over, never sweating, or never really moving, they would stay in my ears. Maybe. So hectic 4th of July weekend i jump in the car, as i reach to put the car in drive the right one fell out of my ear. Hit my shoulder and tumbled, landing on the little rubber part of the emergency brake where it attaches to the car. I held my breath as i reached for it as it sat right in the middle of rubber slit. If i touched too hard it might separate the slit & fall into the car. Softly i tried to lift it off the rubber. It slipped between the slit and i heard it hit the metal bottom of the car. I grabbed my flashlight, separated the slit and saw it sitting about 8-9” lower on the bottom of the car. I tried for several hours to snag that thing but i could not get it. So, i ordered these because they were less expensive. Period. Like my AP4 the sound was exceptional. It was much easier to set up than the AP4. I live in my AirPods. I wear them gardening, shopping, in the car, mowing the lawn, cleaning the house. I do not leave my house until they’re in my ears. I love the noise canceling feature, but also wear them without music if I’m in public & I don’t want to chat with people. But the thing i love the most…they fit right in my ears and stay there. They don’t feel like they’re about to fall out. These do not have the rubber tips, but they fit, i can bend over, i can move. Now I have only had them a couple days so I gave them a 4 because i never write a review for anything electronic until i’ve used it quite a bit, so after a few months i will update and if everything works out i will upgrade it. A few more things about these that i like when you tap them to turn on the music, it comes on instantly, i think Apple refers to that as the buttons. Response time is much quicker to turn on and off. There is not a pause like the 4. It has a crisper sound than the 4. My 4s would occasionally lose connectivity, but these do not. Sometimes it pays to buy the less expensive item, especially if you get it on Amazon Prime Day. Also, this set comes in a smaller case than 4 so it’s prone to slide right out of your hand. I have a small hand & this thing is hard to hang onto. I ordered a strong case to slip this case into in a bright color so its easier to find in my handbag and to make it more durable. Glad i found these.
