Absolutely worth it!
My Galaxy (4) watch was ready for an upgrade!I always do my research and read the reviews before I buy a product. This purchase was no different. I was somewhat concerned with a number of reviewers complaining that the battery was not good and didn’t last long. So, I want to address that concern first. With all of my watches I never use the Always on Display function. I realize that the watch faces are beautiful on the Galaxy Screen. However, those beautiful bright LED’s use power. If you leave them on all the time you can expect maximum battery drain. I have everything turned on except the AOD. Yesterday I used my watch a lot as I was playing and experimenting with all the cool features. Wore it through the night to monitor my sleep. This morning at 6 a.m. I had used a total of 27 percent of battery power for a 24 hour period! At this rate of power usage I can expect 3+ days of use. Battery life doesn’t concern me at all.SETUP (Stars*****)I was expecting to make a trip to my service provider because I use the LTE version. I figured I could do all the setup minus the phone provider portion at home. I was extremely impressed with the setup/switch procedure. Simple, straight forward and quick!I was pleased at how simple and easy the setup was. As soon as I was done I needed to let my dogs out for a walk. While I was out walking the girls my Watch rang! I answered it and had a nice conversation. The switch feature swapped over and set up all of my LTE functions without the need to spend half a day at my phone providers location!DIGITAL RING VERSUS PHYSICAL (Stars *****)I never really liked the physical ring all that much. The new digital ring is awesome! Good job Samsung!CHARGING (Stars *****)Charges extremely fast with the little charger that comes with the watch. This small charger is great for travel. I ordered a couple more.FITNESS (Stars *****)I’m still using them and can only say that so far they are still the award winning excersize App/sensors they have always been.AI (Stars *****)Wow! This opens up a whole new experience with my watch. I use Alexa to do so many things now. The ability to put Alexa on my watch is a real game changer. Don’t worry, if you prefer Google assistant you can use that as well.ASTHETICS (Stars *****)I think Samsung could have done a better job with the advertisement pics out there. I was initially disappointed at how the Galaxy 7 looked. When I actually got the watch I happily realized the pics don’t do it justice. I think that this is the most aesthetically pleasing watch Samsung has made to date.THE BAND (Stars ***)Nope. I knew I didn’t like the watch band it comes with from the pics. If you want an extra you can have mine. I ordered a watch band from Wingle to match the silver of the watch. Wow! They are a perfect match and look gorgeous!I couldn’t be happier! What a great Smartwatch. When you pair this watch with the Samsung family of devices it is in a class of it’s own!OVERALL: Five Stars!RECOMMEND?: Absolutely YES!

Great Watch, Fair price for all the features!
Amazing watch that has been impressive and fun to use. I always swore I would never go digital and in some events I would wear a classic analog watch just for the look. But for everyday use, this watch is great. I have the 44mm watch because I am a tall fella with big wrists. I didn’t want a tiny watch. The screen is beautiful. Setup is simple with the app, and I have had no disconnection issues with it unless I have gone too far away from my phone. I bought the one with LTE capability just in case I decide to need it. But I am seldom away from my phone. I was worried the default band would be too small for my large wrists, but it has many options for large or smaller wrists, and there are tons of options on Amazon for replacement bands. My only complaint would be the default color of the band. The olive green is awful. I have other bands coming tomorrow through Amazon though. I wish they would have just done a black default band. All of the folks complaining about the watch battery life is because they are most likely trying to use it like a phone. When setting up, you have the option to choose which apps you want on the watch. I only installed the apps I wanted notifications from. On top of that, you must disable the screen always on option in the settings so it only shows up when you lift your wrist to your face. There is no need to have it online all the time. With how I have it configured and with moderate use, my watch generally lasts me 2 and a half days on a full charge. It charges pretty quickly on the included base that came with it. I normally charge it while I am working at my computer since my phone is with me and a clock is on the computer, it isn’t missed and gives my wrist a break. Using a keyboard with a watch on isn’t very fun. It is a beautiful watch, great to use, and the health features for fitness, heart monitoring and such are great to have as well. I got mine on the day they announced the 8 which looks like it is going to be a very nice upgrade.

Excellent Watch!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I had a Garmin before for five year. Eventually, like all electronics, it was dying. So I wanted to get something different that I could connect better with my Samsung phone. I picked this watch for the features. Plus the Garmin would not connect with my health app for my healthcare provider where the Samsung Health app would. The face is larger, plus all the amazing things you can do with it, is out of this world. Far more than the Garmin, well for my lifestyle. I am not a runner or swimmer or triathlon person, I am a martial artist and this watch counts all my moves. Plus it looks at my stress levels, O2, energy, ECG, heart rate, sleep, water, AGE index, body composition…gosh I can go on. Some of these are on the Garmin, some are not. As I said earlier, this watch just fits my lifestyle better than the Garmin did and I am very happy with it. Color:I ordered the gray. I was not particular on the color more on the price on Prime Days. Fit:The fit is perfect!Durability:So far the durability is great. Value for money:I waited until Prime Days to get this watch to fit it into my budget. Very happy I did. Functionality:Love the functionality of this watch. Much better quality than the Garmin.

The right balance for me, in a size suitable for a watch
Whether or not you like this watch depends on your needs. For me, it captures a lot of data, ranging from step counts (even when I don’t have my phone with me) to sleep data to heart rate to exercise data with automatic detection. It’s nice because some things that I used to do with spot checks can now be monitored regularly. It also has things such as fall detection or EKG that I couldn’t do before I had the watch. It makes some things more convenient. I’m fine using my phone’s much larger display for most things. But for some things such as Samsung Pay/Google pay, or using a voice assistant, it’s more convenient to leave my phone in my pocket. Many things online, including Samsung’s own website, say that you can’t use Alexa easily, but you don’t need to do anything special to use Alexa instead of Bixby, or Google Pay instead of Samsung Pay, nor do you lose convenience with one vs the other. For me, having a normal sized watch bezel is more important than having additional functionality that I might not need. The 40mm serves me perfectly. For looking at things such as a graph of sleep stages, I’d rather look at a phone screen anyway. If you expect to use your watch face more than I do, consider whether something larger will help. Seeing the watch in person might be necessary if you aren’t sure. But if you want something that looks more like a casual watch than an obtrusive piece of tech, the 40mm 7 fits the bill.Battery life has been generally good, but in my case, the watch is mostly monitoring things. On the road, I might occasionally use it to pay for things, which is easier than getting out the phone, or I might use a voice assistant. But if I’m in my car or at home, I can ask the car or a smart speaker without pressing a button. So I’m not using those sorts of things heavily. If you use the watch for lots of other things, your battery life might not be so good.I can charge it three out of five days (morning, next evening, skip, next afternoon, skip) with light to moderate use, or two out of three days (evening, skip, afternoon) with moderate to above average use. I did have an occasion when it drained overnight for no apparent reason, and after a few erratic days, I did a reset, and it cleared the problem up.Resetting the watch is relatively easy, since it backs most things up. But you will have to set up credit cards again in Samsung Pay or Google Pay, for security reasons, possibly meaning that you’ll have to call each bank for each card and each service. I also had to remap the buttons because it won’t let you set a button for Alexa unless you first get into Alexa, set things up, tie it to your account, etc. If you get the order wrong, the tldr is to assign Alexa to another button and then undo it and choose the button you want. For me, a double press of the main button gives me Pay, and a long press gives me voice assistant.A negative for me is the swipe pattern. I wouldn’t mind using it when needed, which is after a restart, after taking it off your wrist and putting it back on, such as after charging. But it doesn’t prompt for the swipe pattern at those times. It will even let you pull up the watch face. It isn’t until you swipe away from the watch face that you are prompted for a pattern. So you might think that your watch is up and running, only to find out that it wasn’t collecting data all day, or not collecting sleep data, because the watch face was the only thing working. Or you might be ready to pay for something, only to have to hold up the line. If I need a swipe pattern to get things working, it should ask for it. I understand why it’s needed, but not asking for it and showing the watch face without it is actually a negative.Overall, it’s the right watch for me. I would suggest reading up on the Watch 8 to see if there are features that you really want. If you are fine without them, buy the 7. Samsung Health will offer to show you the types of data that only the 8 captures, rather than tailoring itself to the watch you are using, so you’ll have to hide unneeded features on your own. If you are interested, look at Samsung Health before you buy a watch. There are also lots of cheaper watches out there that do a lot less. You can find a smart watch for $20, only to find out that you overpaid by about $20 compared to what it’s worth. This watch does enough to actually be useful, without getting into things that might be interesting but not needed in your daily life.

Very Nice Watch
I updated from the Galaxy 2 watch to the Galaxy 7. It was well worth the update! I find this watch easier to use and it tracks my steps better than the 2. I use it at night to track my sleep, which I could never get the other one to do. This has been accurate too, as it knows when I’ve had a wide awake night. The heart rate is close to my regular BP monotor. The phone allerts are very clear and I can answer the calls or reply briefly to a text. I haven’t work it in the shower to test if it’s really waterproof but it’s been ok with sweat during workouts. I have very small wrists so it looks large on me but that, just me. I had to replace the band to get a better fit. I have bangned in on different things while working and it hasn’t scratched yet so it seems quite durable also. I’m very pleased with this watch.

An Excellent Samsung Watch
Great watch. Wonderful features. Excellent build quality. It’s thinner than previous models which I like. It’s not bulky at all. It looks and feels like a quality watch. It’s easy to wear and the back is comfortable against my skin considering the whole back is a bunch of sensors that do a wonderful job of measuring my heart rate, tracking my sleeping, measuring stress, etc. It charges quickly and was easy to set up right out of the box. No instructions needed. I think I would not have been as happy if I would have bought it new for MSRP. But I bought it on Amazon Prime Day and that made it all the better value. Highly recommended.

I Was Concerned About Battery Life… But No Longer
I have owned a watch 3 since it was released approximately 5 years ago so I’m extremely familiar with every micrometer of that watch. I never babied it. I went everywhere and did everything with it. The only reason it wasn’t on my wrist on extremely rare occasions was when I ran out of the house and accidentally forgot to retrieve it from the charger. I thought the end was near when a plastic ring came out of the bezel… but it still had a couple of years left in it. For my birthday, my wife and I went to the coast. I went swimming at the hotel and then jumped into the hot tub. Apparently that was one activity too far for the watch which has been through miles and miles of swimming with me. It stopped responding to my input. I said to my wife… I know what I want for my birthday 🎂… a new smartwatch! I relate this story because I have been a Galaxy Smartwatch owner since version 1. I am totally satisfied with the the product. I started reading about the version 7 watch and was very concerned about the battery life. The version 3 was advertised as needing a charge every 2 days but it required charging every day. When I did exercise mode it sometimes drained the battery before the end of the day after 100% charge in the morning. Battery drain also happened regularly if the watch lost communication with the phone [a Samsung product]. So, when I saw that the Watch 7 required charging every day, I was alarmed given the track history of the Watch 3. I’m an alpine first responder and need the always on display when I am on duty as a ski patroller to be able to take vital signs. I had trouble doing that with Version 3. I love the feature in Version 7 because it actually stays on instead of having to touch the screen like I did in Version 3. Certainly, the battery will drain quicker with the screen on so I’m happy that I can turn the screen on mode off because most of the time, I don’t need it on. Without the screen on the battery will go 3 days. I’ve done a couple of exercise routines and I still get 3 days estimated battery life. Needless to say, I am extremely encouraged about this watch now. The features are amazing. The only sticking point going into the purchase was the battery life and that concern has completely evaporated. I had purchased a watch face MD 85 for the Version 3 watch that wasn’t transferable to the new watch so I purchased the MD 301 [under two bucks]. The watch face is much larger and there are a lot more customizable features on the new watch face and it is exactly what I’m used to looking at so there is no learning curve except how to use the new features. My initial impression of the watch is that I thrilled to own it and am looking forward to to using it… every day.

A SOLID and Easy-to-Use Watch
Yes, the price is real. Yes, there’s a catch. This watch is the International Edition that is registered for use ONLY in SE Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, etc.). You cannot select regions outside of that on the watch and must instead set the region on your Samsung Account (using your phone). However, this watch is fully compatible with ALL official accessories and comes in a real Samsung box with intact quality seal. There are dozens of bands, cases, etc. in enough colors to make anyone happy. The watch itself is kind of a glorified sensor and your Galaxy phone does all the heavy lifting. Note that US customers do NOT have access to the heart monitoring features (ECG/blood pressure). It will simply say “this function not available in your region” and refuse to let you go further. However, it does measure blood oxygen, body composition, sleep parameters, etc. It’s also fairly stylish and the 40mm watch face is PLENTY big enough. You can use your phone to download many kinds of useful watch faces, apps and such and push them to the watch. Using the Samsung Wear and Health apps (pre-installed on all Galaxy phones) makes using this pretty easy. You can also take calls on it and the sound quality is good. The other person might not even know you’re using your watch! The watch charges with a little magnetic disk only as it has no ports on it. You MUST use a magnetic charger. You can get some second-party chargers that work. The battery life, as with all smart watches, is pretty bad. You will get through a day or so of light use but no more. It wants you to wear it at night but it won’t last that long so I tend to charge it up while I eat dinner so it will be topped off when I go to bed. A bonus is that the charger for it works well with external battery packs and connects pretty strongly so you can charge it in your bag if you were on a bus or plane. It also connects only with Bluetooth, so if you are in Airplane Mode, you will need to activate Bluetooth in Airplane Mode to get the watch to connect. The band is kind of wonky as the excess band goes UNDER the strap and not over it as a Casio band or typical band, but it’s soft and the holes are numerous and finely spaced to give a good fit. I like the way it feels and it seems quite sporty. You can get other bands if you really want to change up the way it looks.Overall, this watch is pretty nice. I have chargers at the office and home and I use the little included one in my travel bag. I am sure that, in 10 years, we will laugh at how primitive our watches were, but, for now, this is one of the best accessories for your Galaxy phone. I believe it’s a better deal than the Google watch and will probably be getting some of these for my family come Christmas. I am only removing one star because the battery life is so wonky and the ECG feature isn’t working.

Good watch, please read
If your batteries draining too fast, watch some YouTube videos on how to save battery!Understand what you are buying and understand how to use it and the product will be good to you. The first day of updating the watch it did take quite a beating to the battery throughout installing the new software, which is to be expected. After turning off unnecessary sensors that I would not need for everyday use. I feel like the battery has adjusted to how I use the watch and now it seems to be lasting about just under 2 days. Learn what settings to manipulate and what settings to have on and off when you don’t need them.I love the color. Definitely sticks out on a man better than the black band .I use this even while washing dishes at work with the water lock on and have no issues, the watch is meant to be submerged so im not at all worried. The 44m screen is actually pretty big but I love it having a decent sized wrist. For the ladies, you might want a smaller size(but that will come with less battery I think)Setting up pretty straight forward. Only took about 10 minutes to set it up with all my preferences

This watch keeps tabs like my Jewish mother but with Bluetooth
First of all, I didn’t ask for a second mother.I bought a smartwatch. A watch. But no. This one decided to take a more personal role in my life.9:03 a.m. “You haven’t moved in 40 minutes.”Okay, calm down. I’m literally just trying to respond to emails and drink a lukewarm coffee in peace.11:17 a.m. “Your stress levels are elevated.”Wow, how did you know? Was it the three kids screaming or the fact that I’ve eaten half a bag of ostreichers chocolate cookies standing at the sink?1:41 p.m. “Time to stand!”Oh, NOW you care. You were suspiciously silent when I was doing laundryfor 3 hours.3:00 p.m. “Energy score: 49. Consider resting.”Honestly? This one felt personal. It’s giving “you look tired, bubbeleh, maybe take a nap, you’re not 25 anymore.”It even tracks my sleep and then has the chutzpah to tell me, “You were restless.”Yeah. No kidding. I’ve got a child that sleepwalks and another one who eats apples in bed. I AM restless. That said… it’s accurate. It’s stylish. It’s probably the only thing in my house that consistently checks in on me.Does it nag? Yes.Does it care? Also yes.Honestly, if it could cook chicken soup and remind me to call my aunt Miriam, I’d marry it.
