Excellent toy on all points for various ages
This is the perfect gift for any ice cream loving child. I gifted this to my 2yo on his birthday and he has a blast with it every single day. He loves real ice cream and the ice cream truck music, so this was a perfect gift. The small ice cream cone is perfect for tiny toddler hands- this is my favorite part of this toy set. He carries his favorite cone combination everywhere- inside and outside. The ice cream scoops are a little loose in the cones. The scooper is tricky for a 2 yo but I’m sure great for a bit older child. Very well made, detailed, great for various ages, lots of fun. Highly recommend! Will make a great gift.

The cutest activity for kids, and such high quality!
This has hands down been the favorite toy for both of our kiddos (ages 1 and 3), perfect for many age ranges. The pieces are very durable, the paint hasn’t chipped at all and it’s easy to assemble all the pieces together! Our daughter loves to use imaginary play to serve us ice cream while our son likes to work on his hand eye coordination to get the pieces to fit together. The little details to all the pieces are so eye catching and fun for the kids as well! We’ve also used this activity for different learning skills such as counting and colors!

Great 3 yr old gift!
This came recommended by a friend but only did I buy it when my daughter pointed it out in the Amazon Catalog. Still not verbal but she made it seem like this is what she wanted for her birthday. Huge hit!!! Such a cute toy that encourages imaginative play and interaction with others. Quality product as always with Melissa and Doug. Everything is mostly wooden and built to last!

I’ve bought others, let me convince you
The media could not be loaded.
I’m here to convince you this is THE ice cream set after I bought 3 different brand and returned the other 2. I purchased this at full price (last minute birthday present because I didn’t like the other 2 I bought before) and am not affiliated/sponsored by anyone (**cries in real money**).I am a pediatric speech language pathologist and a lover of M&D toys so I intend this to be a thorough review. I bought this for my one year old’s birthday. As mentioned before, I bought two other sets (one store brand from a very popular red store) and the other on Amazon, both were $25-35. I purchased this M&D ice cream set for $50 after taxes. Even though this set was double the price, it was completely worth it.Pros:-Materials: Ice cream scoops and cones are wood, toppings are bendable plastic. There is a wood taster spoon, a plastic bowl, and a scoop with a wood handle and plastic scooper. The two other brand sets I bought were all plastic.-Quality: This is the main toy that kids play with at our local library that we’ve been visiting for 3 years, and it has held up. I feel like that’s the biggest testament to quality.(**READ THIS**)Set up- Every ice scream scoop, utensil, and topping has a place in the container. I think this is a reason the one at our library has survived so long. Everything having a place is a big deal in our house to prolong play. The other brand sets I bought did not have enough space for everything which increased clutter and reduced the possibilities of play. It doesn’t matter if other sets come with more pieces if the pieces are just going to get lost and not part of functional play.-made for play- The set up mimics an ice cream counter which invites interactive play. My toddler plays with 6+ year olds with this by one kid “ordering” through the plastic front, and the other “serving” on the ice cream side. There is also a menu included that can be used to order from by checking boxes or pointing. Every ice cream flavor and topping is visible through the plastic and in a logical placement. Again, this was also a big loser from the other brands- one had shelves only visible to the server side. This is GREAT to promote social skills, pretend play, and language!!!-stackable: the ice cream scoops can stack on top of each other to make a tall cone/cup. This greatly expands the possibilities of play and of course was the first thing my kids did with it. One set of another brand I bought did not allow for stacking.-Speech, language and social development- this is an open ended toy that is great for young kiddos to learn through play. My 2 y/o toddler picked up the words single, double, and triple in one play setting. My baby learned to pretend lick the cone, ask for more, etc. I am a firm believer that M&D carefully craft their products to promote skills through play. Yes, im kicking myself for not buying this one first.-fine motor skills- great to promote fine motor skills.ConsI have no cons, I fully believe this is the perfect ice cream set.Age group: 1+. My one year old is interested in this and enjoys putting the scoops in the spots/cones. My 2 y/o will spend an hour playing with this making different scoops for everyone. At the library, older kids (I would guess up to 10 y/o) also play with this toy. I imagine it will be a staple in our hosue for a long time.

Highest of quality
I was honestly shocked about how nice this set is. Expecting the cheap plastic & hollow feel we’re used to, I instead found a solid & completely functional set up. Every piece has its own place & the makes it easy for the younger kids. The scoop & everything actually works like it shows in the pictures. Theres also a very solid clear plexiglass like cover over one side giving it that real ice cream shop esthetic & feeling. It’s sturdy & built to be passed down through the family. Even the menu & fake money are so well made. It was well worth the $10 difference over the other options. My daughters (8y,11y) loved it from first sight. They have a blast opening up shop everyday. It doesn’t look or feel like it was made on an assembly line, but by someone who cares about the quality of both the physical & imaginary experience. Truly 5 stars

Cute, cute, cute
So cute!!! Going on a year and it’s one of my daughter’s favorite toys. It’s held up great, not a chip in the paint or anything. The ice creams are perfect size for little hands to play with. The toppings are actually my favorite part, they’re like the perfect finishing touches lol

Welcome to Chaos Creamery. Now Open Daily at 6 a.m.
Apparently, my living room is the hottest new ice cream parlor in town, run entirely by toddlers who don’t believe in hygiene or customer service. The Melissa & Doug Ice Cream Counter has transformed my children into very aggressive entrepreneurs. You will be served, whether you asked for it or not, and yes, your “order” will be hurled directly at your face. All our friend’s kids swarm this thing like it’s Coachella for dairy products. I’ve seen grown adults get roped into ordering sundaes that come with a side of chaos and zero refunds. But you know what? The kids LOVE it. They’re living, laughing, loving, and giving me a whole five minutes of peace while I drink my coffee. So yes, 5 stars. If you’re ready for your house to be overtaken by an unpaid staff of sugar-obsessed maniacs, this is the toy for you.
