Perfect for Kids and Adults — My 12-Year-Old Loves Her Owala FreeSip!
I bought the Owala FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle (24 oz) for my 12-year-old daughter, and it has been a total win. She absolutely loves it, and I do too—for a lot of good reasons. If you’re looking for a high-quality water bottle that actually makes hydration easy and fun (yes, that’s possible), this is the one.Thoughtful Design & Amazing Sip OptionsThe feature that really makes this bottle stand out is the FreeSip lid. It has both a built-in straw and a wide-mouth opening, so you can drink two different ways. My daughter loves using the straw when she’s on the go, and when she’s really thirsty or refilling at home, she just tilts it back and chugs like a regular bottle. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference in how often she actually uses the bottle. She even mentioned it feels “cooler” to drink from than her old one.Perfect Size for School and SportsThe 24 oz size is ideal for a kid. It holds enough water to get through most of the school day or a sports practice without being bulky or too heavy. It fits easily into backpack pockets, cup holders, and even the side pouch of her dance bag. She’s taken it to school, dance class, and weekend outings, and it’s always the first thing she grabs when heading out the door.Keeps Water Cold All DayThis bottle really performs when it comes to insulation. It keeps water cold for hours—literally from morning until late afternoon, even on warm days. My daughter actually gets excited to take a sip and feel how cold the water still is. That’s a big improvement from some of the cheaper plastic bottles we’ve used in the past.Durable and Kid-ProofKids drop things. A lot. This bottle has held up incredibly well. The stainless steel body is sturdy and the powder-coated finish hasn’t chipped, even after being tossed into lockers and dropped a few times. It still looks nearly brand new. The lid closes securely and hasn’t leaked once, even when it’s rolling around in a backpack.Cute Colors That Kids LoveOwala really nailed it with their color choices. We got the “Shy Marshmallow” (pastel blue and peach), and it’s adorable without being too childish. The color combo is one of my daughter’s favorite things about the bottle—it feels stylish and fun, which means she actually wants to carry it around.Easy to CleanThe lid design might look complex at first, but it’s surprisingly easy to take apart and clean. We usually rinse it by hand, but the bottle is dishwasher safe on the top rack, which is a huge bonus. There’s no weird plastic smell or funky taste either, which has been an issue with some other bottles we’ve tried.⸻Pros: • Dual-function FreeSip lid (straw + wide-mouth) is super convenient • Excellent insulation keeps water cold for hours • Kid-friendly design that’s durable and fits in backpacks/cup holders • Leak-proof lid means no spills in school bags • Fun, stylish color combos kids actually like to use • Dishwasher safe and easy to clean • Comfortable size and weight for younger usersCons: • Lid handle is a bit small for adult hands (not an issue for kids) • Straw can take a little getting used to at first (minor learning curve)⸻Final ThoughtsThe Owala FreeSip Water Bottle is one of the best purchases I’ve made for my daughter. She drinks more water without reminders, loves showing it off to friends, and it’s held up to daily use like a champ. Whether it’s for school, sports, or weekend outings, this bottle goes everywhere with her. If you’re looking for something functional, fun, and built to last, this is absolutely worth it. I might even grab one for myself next!

Best water bottle
I’ve had this for over a year now and it’s definitely the best water bottle ever. It’s insulated, sturdy, secure, attractive, and the free sip + straw design is amazing. I’ve never been a big straw person and previous was using the Thermos Alta water bottle—I loved it at the time and always preferred an open spout to a straw, but I had so many accidents with it popping open in my bag because I often forgot to lock it. Eventually, I lost it and got this one. The Owala locks securely as long as you just put the handle down. Even when I forget to put the handle down, it usually doesn’t open because the button takes a bit of force to press. I figured I would primarily use the spout option, but ended up falling in love with the straw. Unlike other options, it doesn’t stick out of the bottle and is super easy to clean. The straw is wide so you can easily suck up a lot of liquid. I wanted a bottle that was attractive for the office and a balance between holding a substantial amount of water and still fitting in my bag and car cupholder. I have the 24 oz version in Foggy Tide, which fits the bill. I find I drink more water using this, so I do have to refill throughout the day, but it’s great. It keeps my water cold and I add 3 big ice cubes in the morning, which last through the day as I refill the water.Even my 2-year-old LOVES the straw function and it’s easy for her to use. She has her own water bottle with a silicone straw, but always begs for mine instead. I think the 24 oz would be too cumbersome for her to use regularly on her own, but I’m considering getting her a 16 oz kid one since she loves it so much. My only issue is that if she knocks it over, I really don’t want it to spill everywhere. I’m considering the flip, but I wish there was a kid size that had the same exact straw as this without the spout..

Fantastic
32oz. Photos for size comparison, next to my 32oz iron flask. Freesip is narrower and taller and looks more naturally sized, it fits better in my smaller hands. It is also lighter than the iron, and seems to keep drinks cold for a lot longer (24hrs vs 12hrs). I LOVE this bottle as much as one could love a water bottle. The straw mouthpiece is uniquely shaped and very ergonomic on the lips, it doesnt require you to contort your mouth like a normal straw (which can cause dental problems fyi). Because of the lid design im more inclined to close it every time, others i will partially close which may be why it keeps things colder as well. The spring when opening is perfect, not too aggressive but not weak either, same for the latch which gives a confidence inspiring click. I like the secondary lock that goes over it too as it doubles as a carrying handle and also slows the lid opening down some giving it a buffer like a slow close cabinet. Condensation free as advertised and provides for good grippiness. Some are bothered by the lid being in front of your nose but i use it as a reminder to clean. If it smells bad that is a sign of bacteria. The singular critique i have is that the lid looks like a weakpoint and i worry it could break if dropped in the wrong way. Lastly regarding the price, while it may seem “expensive” for a water bottle, it is priced that way because it will last for a long time. How else could a company survive with you using the same water bottle for years.Ps if you use carbonated beverages, after some time the pressure will build up and it will shoot out like a volcano the next time you open it. To avoid this, unscrew the lid first to vent it THEN open the cap

The Only Water Bottle You’ll Ever Need!
I can’t say enough good things about this water bottle! Absolutely the best water bottle I have ever purchased and I’ve purchased at least a hundred at this point! What I love so much about this bottle is that it offers the best of both worlds- you get a straw to sip and it has a spout if you want to switch it up. Bonus that everything your mouth touches can be safely tucked away under the lid so office germs stay away. This bottle keeps your drink cold for a long time too! The only reasons you’d really need other water bottles is if you wanted different sizes or you wanted different colors! I love this water bottle so much that I didn’t even take away a star for the only thing that I dislike- which is that most of the sizes do not fit in a standard cup holder in a car- but you can always buy a cup holder expander!

My Personal Favorite Water Bottle
My favorite water bottle ever. I had no idea what I was missing without this bottle’s elegant mouth design. It requires active negative pressure to drink while holding the bottle upright or at a slight angle (i.e. one must draw the water out intentionally), but it also allows for easy pouring when the bottle is tilted more sharply. Easy open/close functionality with a highly durable mechanism. Great color combination that stands apart from most bottles. Extremely well insulated, contents will stay at a constant temperature for eons, it seems. Not too heavy considering how effectively insulated it is. It will be a sad day when I can’t have one of these anymore.

Very pleasantly surprised
Wow, I love this thing! I’m a long-time Nalgene user, but wanted something a bit more insulated for traveling in hot weather. Wasn’t interested in what I thought would be gimmicky designs for the flip top but wanted to see what the hype was about…I’m very happy with all aspects of this bottle! The flip-top function is so amazingly ergonomic to use; and the sip or straw function is effortless!Additionally, as it should, keeps liquids at the temp you want (for me, cold with ice). Will see how it handles multiple flights (regarding pressure changes), but so far I’m really pleasantly surprised how satisfying this bottle is to use. I fully recommend!

Awesome, but the straw doesn’t always stay in place. List of pros and cons
I wanted this to be 5 stars so bad, but I had to dock a star due to the straw CONSTANTLY needing to be put back in place.I bought this water bottle due the fact that you can both chug and sip out of a straw (I LOVE this design), and it closes (unlike my Stanly)!!! We went on a Caribbean trip and I needed a water bottle that could travel and not make me give up my straw!!POSITIVES:It does not leak. At all.It keeps the water cold for hours and hours. I still had ice in my bottle after over 10 hours of travel! I filled it to the top with ice before we went to the airport (being able to bring ice through TSA is a huge blessing), filled it with water at the 1st airport. When we got to the 2nd airport 3 hours later I filled it again. Drank all my water on that 5 hour flight and STILL had ice in it!The straw works great, when it is in the straw hole.CONS:At first the straw never slipped, but somewhere during the trip I started noticing that it frequently fell out of the hole and so when I would go to take a sip, nothing. I had to put the straw back in the hole frequently after that. I didn’t drop it, and hadn’t even washed it during my trip so not sure what happened. This part is kind of a bummer tbh as the straw feature is the entire reason I bought this water bottle. The button to open the lid has to be pushed HARD. That is good because it never accidentally opens which would be a disaster in a bag, but if you have trouble with your fingers or strength issues in your hands you may really struggle with this feature. I can’t really open it one handed as I can’t get enough leverage with just one hands to push that button hard enough (especially since the water bottle is kind of fat). This could be a HUGE con for some.Unless you have huge cup holders in your car, it won’t fit in them. This is a fairly fat water bottle. Not car cup holder friendly.Still 4 stars, though because I can deal with all the rest!

Cover mechanism keeps the straw and mouthpiece fresher for longer than other brands.
It’s your regular insulated tumbler.Keeps the temperature of the drink the same as it went in for a prolonged period of time. What makes Owala stand out is that the cover-mechanism on the mouth of the bottle really does help keep the mouthpiece and straw fresher or mold-free for longer than of other brands, but still people; please wash it at least once every two days.Grip is nice.Lock feature is vacuum sealed.Quite easy to open, not really a fight to the death.Dropped thrice, no damage not even to the paint.

My New FAVORITE Bottle
I truly LOVE my Owala bottle. I kid you not, in the first week I was drinking 3-4 full bottles of water each day! That’s 120 oz to 160 oz of water per day which is mind boggling because before that I was struggling to finish at least to 32oz bottles. It’s all in the spout, whether you sip or chug, it is so easy to drink water without stopping. I was previously using a Camelbak Eddy+ and I loved that bottle but I found compared to the Owala the bite valve stopped you from getting a continuous flow of water between breathes.Plus it has a lid to cover the sip part which opens decently easy. I have found after the first few washes the lid catches when it goes to open, meaning it takes an extra second to pop open. It keeps the mouth piece clean even when dropped. If I dropped my Camelbak on the ground it would end up getting dirt, sand or mud depending on where it was dropped and the bite valve would need to be cleaned. The bottle comes apart and is easily cleaned. My main gripe is WHOEVER takes the product phots for Owala SUCKS!! Not once has a color way online matched what I have seen in store or received from an online order. If you want a particular color I recommend going to the store to pick it out and don’t rely on the product photos.Overall I highly recommend this bottle, I just wish the price was a bit lower and the colors were represented better.

Best Waterbottle Ever!
I am obsessed with this waterbottle, I bought 4 in different colors. Marketing is on point. The straw feature is a smooth sip with no resistance. I have not needed the pour feature, but it’s there for anyone who prefers it.The locking mechanism works great and it super important for throwing the bottle in a bag. It also flips up for an easy carrying option. Get a carabiner to attach it to a bag, if you want! It’s a little disappointing that it doesn’t fit in a cup holder in my car, but because it locks closed, I can just put it on the seat by me.The flattened sides on the 24 oz fit my hand so comfortably, it’s actually pleasing. I’m actually disappointed that the larger sides do not have this feature. My daughters all use this waterbottle as well! Even my 2 year old can handle the bottle and sip it without spilling.
